Emirates splashing the cash!!

I see your point, but this may be for many raesons.
– The manufacturers may have both offered good bargins, or leasing companies may have given good discounts also
– Both aircraft have attributes that beat each other, so Emirates decided to go with both
– Now, i believe that Emirates ordered the 10 A346 because Airbus pitched it to them because Emirates already has the A345 and A388 on order; therefore, Airbus claimed they could achieve fleet commonality with their fleet, which would reduce cost
– Emirates also achieved fleet commonality when it choose the 773ER, which has similar charicteristics with the rest of the 777 family.
My explanation was not the best, but i tried. I hope i helped a bit.
