Currently digitising my old camcorder tapes and came across this mid air collision between the Russian MIG-29’s at RAF Fairford during the IAT 1993.
Thankfully no fatalities in the air or on the ground how i dont know! so i feel comfortable in sharing it.
Many thanks for the uplink.
Great quality.
Nice to see most of the display sequence.
Just a reminder that this all happened in about 15 seconds.
I missed the actual collision ,but have a few shots afterwards.
My slides are scanned but not reworked sofar.
Actually I have only one slide of that whole day reworked and uploaded
This photo is taken from the photobus in the early morning.

MIG-29S FULCRUM, 925 (Flight Research Institute)
Its a long term question if this Mig performed a morning solo display
Appearantly it did..
I was there too….I also remember the insane solo demo of one of those Migs earlier that day.

The top one has a Mk XIV inside it …[/QUOTE]
What are the plans for MV262?
I notice the Starfighter in the second shot is missing its cockpit floor. Considering how some Starfighters had downward firing ejection seats was this maybe due to the way the ejection seat was removed ?
Rob
Intresting question Rob ,but my technical study on this 104 is limited to a few snapshots.
I only asume there is some kind of floor panel underneath the seat and the lower belly panel.
It would be a technical challenge to exit the fighter downwards with metal skin panels and a floorpanel.
Upwards looks much easier

Great photoworks, Pleasure to see & Good memories
Just scanned today one from my last visit to shuttleworth

The slide was taken in 1991
I’ve seen photo’s of NF370 at Duxford in 1988
Any move must have been prior 1988

It’s an interesting museum. I was there too in 2005, but on another day. It was really hot then. I liked the restoration hangar most.
Thanks for the reply,
Any photos available of the 4 aircraft outside?
(A-26,canberra,A-7,OV-1)
Thanks in advance
