RE: Ontario Worldair
Thanks a million A320 for the pics….The model that I have is 1/50 and is of the a/c C-GRYN. I love the c/s but I really don’t remember seeing the airline during my career in aviation. I am told that they used to opr to LGW. Thanks again to all who responded.
RE: Sirocco Aerospace orders TU 204s!!
Good news! Something different to look at-eventually!
RE: Pic of the Day
Nice pics-Does City Flyer on the Qantas 330 mean that there is an
offshoot of the main airline?
RE: New Model.
Any chance of a pic when finished?
RE: New Model.
You’ll be fine-The most recent kit that I built was a 1/100 Tu144. Coanda is right you might need some filler and I found that the brush on type adhesive was great. Don’t envy you doing all those faces though,at least my last kit was just ordinary Aeroflot colours. That’s why I cheat nowadays and buy the ready made display planes when I can afford them Good Luck mate!
RE: New airline, and Apple Vaccations has already nicked a 757 from thomas cook!
Really like the An140,although I think that Saab has hit the nail on the head ref its future prospects. Am I right in thinking that it is to be built under licence in Iran or India (or both)?
RE: Ontario Worldair
Many thanks for all responses Saab 2000 and Ren Frew. Its more information than I had yesterday but always grateful for more…
RE: Pic Of The Day-Finnair!
So much nicer than the current livery!
RE: Pic of the night.

RE: Russian Flag Carrier Chooses Airbus!
The argument on the comparison between Russian types and western ones is almost as old as aviation itself, and I did not mean to imply such a comparison in my posting, mongu. Soviet airliners were designed to comply with totally different requirements peculiar to a command economy, and within these requirements the equipment was totally satisfactory. With regard to Aeroflots “rush” to buy/lease western jets,I worked for Aeroflot in the UK during 1993 and I was told that had the Russian equivalent airliners been available at the time they would have been selected for service over the other types. However time has moved on and I totally agree with what you said that it would be good to see a role within the European arena for the Russian aerospace industry.
RE: Russian Flag Carrier Chooses Airbus!
Good news that Aeroflot chooses Airbus,a superior product over Boeing in my opinion. However I don’t think that the great aviation heritage of the likes of A.N.Tupolev,S.Ilyushin,O.Antonov A.Yakovlev and many other great Soviet/Russian designers and constructors should be overlooked. I worked for 20yrs in civil aviation and have flown in many of the Russian types many times, I found them to be as capable of the task of revenue earning flights as any western type. It should also be remembered that many of the world aeronautic records were set by and remain in the hands of the Soviet/Russian aerospace industry. Lets hope that such an illustrious past will ensure some future for the Russian aircraft industry.
