    It could be said that Blair may have harmed many innocent civilians, including children, in plunging our military into a the hunt for the WMD’s that never were!

    Just my opinion of course. :diablo:

    Regards;
    Steve

    I totally agree with it, but I’d keep it to yourself, else you might end up on the ‘Key hit list’:eek:

    Well, I’m wiser than when I got up this morning;) I never knew about the A380 ban in India. Smacks of the anti Concorde debacle in the US,bprior to the planes entry into service.

    i quite liked it, i chuckled

    So did I. No one with an ounce of common sense, can argue about the gravity of the Saville allegations, and the impact that they, if proven to be true, have had on the lives of many innocent folk. As for Blair as an individual, I think that Moggie is right on the money. Pesnonally, I don’t think that his post trivialises the topic in any way.

    Great images Sarah. For me, its nice to see the Conairs, Scanair, Sterling, having had so much to do with them in my job. I always had a soft spot for Busy Bee, I really liked the ‘cheeky’ looking Bee on the fin. He did have an official name, but I can’t remember what it was. Courtesy of one of the Captains on the BB, I have a very nice BB desk flag made from silk, with a chromed ‘pole’ and marble base. It’s one of my most precious souvenirs of my time at STN. I believe that the aircraft crashed in India some years later, it was being operated by an Indian airline at the time. The very last time I set foot at PMI, was a round trip STN-PMI-STN, on the flightdeck of a Dan Air 727-100. Previous to that, it was a family hol, with the flights being on a Transeuropa Caravelle

    I worked alongside the BAA for some 20 or more years. Simply ‘window dressing’ like this, will not change anything. In my experience, they were never particularly good at what they did, they were ‘top heavy’ far too many very well paid ‘managers’ in the system. Even the less auspicious individuals working for them, had pay and conditions, that those of us working in the airlines at STN, could only dream of. They carried on with the same pay and work practices that they enjoyed in the good ‘ol days of state control. In the end, that was to be their undoing. STN will soon be free of the grip of that monopolistic entity, and I wish them well, and who knows, we may even get a dedicated spotting area out of this;)

    That 707 is a nice item Rob. Reminds me of a time back in the early 80s, when I was out in London with my youngest brother. We were touring ‘airline street’ otherwise known as Regent Street, looking at the lovely huge models in the windows of the various airline ‘showrooms’ Taking a short cut, behind the shops, my brother exclaimed “Wow, look at that” It turned out to be the tail of a large Iran Air Boeing 707, in a rubbish skip, if you please! What heathen did this:eek: Well he was into that skip as quick as you like, and pulled the model out. It was virtually undamaged, with a wingspan of around 3ft. No stand, but my brother ‘ferreted’ further down, and found it. No one looking, so we took it home. Great fun on the tube I can tell you:)

    The Y7 had several civilian operators. An interesting aircraft.

    Maybe this is what you saw

    The UN peacekeeping forces, the IAEA, and many other organizations have won it before.

    And rightly so. I’m usually quite pro Europe, but I don’t really feel that the EU warrants being collectively honoured in this way. IMO, this award has to be one of the Nobel Foundations less auspicious decisions, its right up there with their awards to the likes of Barak Obama.
