David the RAFM is not the first Museum to have a collection Policy change or will it be the last, you for some reason seem to be be trying to blame the Museum for all this. I take it you are trying to tell us BA are not to be blamed, just remember these are BA aircraft it was BA who decided their fate regardless what what facts you try to drag up out of the past.

That said David ever since the collection came to Cosford BA has been responsible with both funding and manpower of which they withdrew four years ago, also I think you will find it was BA who painted up the JU52,Britannia and the Dragonfly into their new colours.

Well said KEV35 both statements are spot on.No one likes to see any airframes scrapped but at least this way the aircraft are not going to just rot away slowly with nothing being saved.

I fully agree with all you have said CKING I still cannot understand why the RAFM is taking all the flak regarding the Airliners and not BA.
I live local to the Museum and am a regular visitor and as I understand it the Neptune is staying at Cosford.
At the end of the day there is only so much money to go round and personaly I would rather see it being spent on preserving the exhisting RAFM collection than on the Airliners, that was BA’s job and they FAILED to do it.

Kev these are still BA aircraft which everway you look at it and the truth in the real world is as I see it is that the RAFM has niether the funds or manpower to look after them.

The Comet belongs to the RAFM and will be rehoused in Hangar one once the aircraft are moved into the cold war building.

Think you will find that only cockpit of 707 is being saved as I to was at Cosford today, also it is true to say thatthe 707 looks a mess but can be said of anything being dismantled this is down to the contractors not RAFM
