    Battle hyd. selector , throttle

    Hi guys , hyd. selector is very similar to mossie , most likely made by same company , throttle quad is made up of two half castings with levers inside , the battle airframe manual does not lie !

    Hi guys , as follows

    1, Battle main panel , cockpit controls ( throttles , trim , hyd. selector , various instruments }.
    2, Various cockpit parts , coolant tank x3
    3, Cockpit floor ( control column , rudder pedals etc.
    4, Whole parts collection.

    Battle pics

    Hi everyone , thanks to Moggy for posting pics , they show the state of play as of six months ago ,five years worth of collecting , all the bits were pulled out of storage some of which was seen at Tyabb airshow , a slab for the workshop sits on the ground where these pics were taken , should be up and running on cataloging/sorting/restoration by end of the year ( and what a long run its going to be ! )

    Hi guys here a few more .

    32 B24 Lib.
    16 Lookheed Hudson
    28 Catalina
    75 Curtiss Hawk 75 ( P 36 )
    87 Curtiss P 40 kittyhawk
    106 P 51 Mustang

    Some part numbers are common to more than one version of a/c for instance late model P40s still had some parts with 75 prefix from the P 36

    Some for the aussies

    01 to 02 CAC Wirraway
    03 CAC Wackett
    12 to 13 CAC Boomerang
    126 DAP Beaufort

    Typhoon parts scrapped!!!

    Are you trying to say that a ” preservation group ” scrapped a Typhoon wreck because they did not want it !!!! I saw an old flypast article on this typhoon ( i think) What a waste. 😡

    Hi Cees , if you can wait a couple of weeks i am getting a run of these panels done , i have the auto cad drawing , they will be laser cut , they are the early type { 6A/616 } mk 1a as used in the Battle.

    Thanks JDK for putting pics up , yes there is alot of work to do , i am in the process of putting up a new work shop and thining out my collection of other projects {Anson , Wapiti } to concertrate on the battle have auto caded blind flying panel , the firewall is next and will soon start on radiater ducting , progress will be displayed at next Tyabb airshow . As i said before anyone who may have parts let me know . Does anyone have email address for Medway group?

    Port Pirie dump South Aust.

    Hi all , have very much enjoyed this thread , i will soon put up (when i find them) pics i was given of the old dump that the ex RAAF base at Port Pirie SA many Fairey Battles were dumped there , pics were taken during 1980s showing battle engine mounts cockpit frames sections of mainspar u/c legs etc most in very poor condition due to to salt laden air (near the sea) , most of this stuff is even gone know , must be more buried.
    To the member that has all the grips would you want to swap one for a battle column , have a few spare columns need a early (round firing button grip) to help restore my battle cockpit.

    This battle belongs to The South Aust. Aviation museum , wish i did have it!
