On Friday 26 October an Army Air Corps Apache helicopter callsign Scarecrow / ZJ231 came in from Wattisham for some circuits on Runways 02 and 30 before departing to Gravesend







A Chinook helicopter, Vortex 427 / ZH775, arrived from Linton-on-Ouse as part of a navigation exercise at lunchtime on Friday 12 October. The crew from 27 Squadron wanted some bacon sandwiches before they departed for the next stage of their flight to Woolwich in east London, then returning to their base at RAF Odiham. Their flight had started from Oban in Scotland.







A Scout in for maintenance was also out in the sunshine.

Saturday 29 September. Jet Fest Gnats














Then on to the night shoot. The Herts Air Ambulance returned while this was going on and lit up the Gnats with its searchlight.














The classic jets were lined up on the Hangar 2 Apron ready for the night shoot as the sun went down.














Friday 28 September. There were arrivals during the day for the Jet Fest and night photo shoot.










Sunday 9 September. The two Jet Provosts were out on two more formation sorties before the Mark 5 returned to Coventry








The Miles Falcon and de Havilland Hornet Moth came in from Biggin Hill on their way to Old Warden




The Hong Kong Bulldog went off to Popham and the YAk 12 visited us rom White Waltham



Saturday 8 September. This proved to be a Jet Provost weekend with two doing formation training – Mark 3 G-BKOU from North Weald and Mark 5 G-BWGF from Coventry.











The Mustang also went off for a display at White Waltham



On Sunday 2 September Peter Teichman went to Old Warden to do his last display there in the Spitfire PRXI. He did a circuit on departure and returned late afternoon.












The Hong Kong Bulldog – G-BPCL – was also out several times over the weekend.


On Saturday 1 September the yelloow Gnat – G-MOUR – was out on a couple of local sorties with missed approaches on return








Saturday 25 August
On Saturday the Norwegian two-seat Vampire departed for Dunsfold





It was followed in the afternoon by the MiG 15UTI. They have now all left us for the rest of their display season in the UK






The Hurricane Heritage Harvard FE511 came in from White Waltham for a brief visit.


We also had a Gazelle, G-CDNO, come in. This has a Miss Demeanour-like colour scheme


Friday 17 August and Monday 20 August
On Friday the Hangar 11 Spitfire did a circuit before departing to Biggin Hill for a display








On Monday Westland Scout XV137 / G-CRUM arrived for maintenance



Tuesday 7 August
The Jet Provost Mark5 G-VIVM was out again for a local sortie and some circuits










Tuesday 31 July
The CFS Gnat, G-RORI, was out on three local sorties during the day, doing missed approaches on return. I only managed to catch the first two, as I was in the Tower for the third.
