They were at LCY for the annual Fun Day, a free show for local people.

From Dx there were ML407, the P47 and Hellcat, Pete Kynsey in the Cosmic Wind and Tom Moloney’s new Strikemaster. Also in attendance were Will Curtis in his Sukhoi 26, a CAP 232, a solo Utterly Butterly, the Tiger Club Turbulent Team and Anna Walker in a Jungman.

    Here are a few pics…

The Cat’s gone now, I’m afraid. N9521C departed from North Weald on Friday. It was going to Kinloss first to do a memorial Battle of the Atlantic flypast, then on tho the States.

I was lucky enough to have a look round her during the recent Air Britain fly-in.

    Here are some cockpit shots.

9-10 August, according to the Flyer diary.
I’ll have a look to see if I’ve got one of ‘Janie’.

The BBD pic was taken when Rob was picking her up after some maintenance.

I’m based there some of the time. You can look forward to seeing Kennet Aviation’s jets and helicopters – Hunter, Venom, Gnats, Wasps.

There are two NW-based Mustangs, and the plan is, I believe, to have a P51-themed evening event along the lines of the Sally B BBQ last year.

We’ve got a number of Yaks based at NW – 11s, 50s and 52s, there are Jet Provosts, Bulldogs, a T33, two Beech 18s, the two C54s over for film work. With luck, Gary Numan’s T6 will get an airing too.

Then there will be the visiting flyers. Rob Davies and Maurice Hammond will probably be in attendance, they often ‘drop in’.

If the weather is good, it should be a fun couple of days. You must try the Squadron’s legendary burgers!

ML407 – the Grace Spitfire. To prove it, here’s the rear cockpit.

    Whoops – finger trouble again!

Here’s a pic of a real Mark IX this time (not from Sunday though).
