Just a thought, have no experience with such things.

You have to take solace in the old saying ‘quality over quantity’ then.T J
Der er nok ikke andet at gøre…

A statement from SCFA, the Constellation operators, was copied from Facebook and posted in the forum in my signature. In short, Breitling has indeed terminated sponsorship, after extensive repair/maintenance work the aircraft is expected to fly again on May 1, 2018. And they’re short of more than 1 million Swiss Francs….
Unfortunately, enthusiasm alone never returned an aircraft to the air. Any airworthy rebuild of any aircraft needs money too. Lots and lots of it.
Thanks for the info!
IIRC, ‘DK was acquired in the early Seventies by the prolific Danish vintage aircraft collector Jens Toft and was passed on by him to the now defunct Danmarks Flyvemuseum. As stated earlier, I saw it in 1982 or 1983 – or rather what remained of it – while it was in storage at Kongelundsfortet, a Danish Air Force Hawk AA-missile battery south of Copenhagen Airport. Considering the mess that that organization made of the aircraft donated to it, I’m so pleased to see it in good hands in the country where it belongs.
Does anyone know what has/is happened/happening to this aircraft since Classic Air Force folded?
And while on the subject of Miles Gemini: Here’s an airworthy one still for sale, now reduced to €37.500,-. That’s much less than what a good Piper J-3C costs! If I had a hangar space and a twin rating, then… but I haven’t.
I seem to recall having seen the CV880 and CV990 type certificates, parts and a couple of aircraft for sale with Courtesy Aircraft not too long ago.
There are three airworthy Doves/Devons in Germany…
Many thanks for those great photos from a venue which is very unusual in this forum. Not many places left in the world where you can see a flying Mirage III..
Ask Red Bull to sponsor the €Fighter operations, or have Red Bull take over the air policing role with their Alpha Jets.
Great work, congratulations! Always happy landings! Those who criticize this kind of aircraft have little clue regarding the amount of work that goes into itö.
The Cadets’ FB post doesn’t explicitly say that they are being restored to fly. It says that they are being moved to St Athan, and the author “can’t wait… to hopefully see them fly again very soon”.
Yes, also mentioned in the text, at least a Danish tailcone, nose and vertical stabilizer. Quite a few were painted olive green and placed on various air bases in Denmark as decoys after being phased out at the end of the Fifties, remaining there until essentially all decoys (including quite a few F-86D’s and some RF-84F’s) and derelict aircraft on the air bases were culled (scrapped) in the Nineties. A few more or less complete aircraft and some major components went to museums/collectors, which is very likely the origin of these parts. They have however been exposed to the harsh Danish climate for around 40 years, so I wonder what can be made out of them. Only about five Danish F-84G’s survive, out of more than 250 aircraft used…
Breitling + “HB-” = wristwatches + Constellation + Switzerland
Red Bull + “OE-” = vile liquids for human consumption + shiny B-25/P-38/wrecked Cobra/much more + Austria
