A few years ago I emailed AJD Engineering and I was quoted £200k for an Avro 504 – minus engine. I would imagine an SE5 would be around the same.

    Check out: http://www.hawker-restorations-ltd.co.uk/Completed.html

I thought something like a SE5 would have been more, due to the fact its alot more complicated that a avro, or a sopwith..who was in it to make aircraft to sell?

Suppose you can add another 30K for a engine?

I dare say the engine, spats, prop hub and perhaps the fuel tank are the only bits worth anything there – the rest is nothing but firewood.

exactly, would make a good fire!

    without paperwork useless 🙁

Sorry to disappoint but its not a Turbulent

look at the width of the fuselage, its a 2 seater

It doesn’t have a fin, its more than likely a jodel, and also the U/C legs are jodel shape (square)

Im pretty certain to say its a Jodel D18, which has been home built and probably unfinished (due to the ribs but no wing)

    thanks for the reply 1group,

Ive only ever been to EK when i was little (several times) although i dont remember it at all. (18 now)

I had a scan on EK’s webpage which is where i found that info i posted although it really didnt tell me much abotu what there is to see there as its a 2hr drive for me, so id like to know first.

With the recent post about haunted airfields with the EK tower being mentioned id love to go in there at night just to try and understand the feeling.

If the lancs running at 7:30 then would the tower still be open then or is there a closing time on that night? or will it be an exception.
    Many thanks

So i dont know if im missing something, but what happened to the aircraft and the pilot?

Im guessing it was a mechanical problem rather than damage?
