NX23001 was the Rich-Twin Model 1-X-2. The craft was a 2 seat monoplane powered by 2 75hp Lycoming GO-145 engines. The manufacturer was the N.B.Rich Airplane Co. of Springfield Mass. Like many other designs of the 30’s the Rich-Twin disappeared into obscurity.

My 2 cents:
I like the WOT with whole aircraft since that way I learn about aircraft I never heard about. The best part is finding out the history or story behind the aircraft. Figuring out which part of the F-4 Phantom doesn’t enlighten me about something new.
So I scanned in several unusual aircraft to get WOT back on track. Hopefully nothing that has been used before.

In United States Military Aircraft since 1909 by Swanborough and Bowers 1989 Putnam edition page 413 is a picture of F-4B in USAF colors 49406 says they used 29 loaned F-4B’s
