Google Earth image update
Today I found some new interesting high res sat pics on Google Earth: check out these airbases in Russia and Ukraine ๐ฎ ๐ ๐ Lots of MiG-25 (or MiG-31??) and some Be-12 can be found.
I don’t think the local post office in involved in the delays… For me, in France, it always takes a lmong time before receiving my review. For instance, my credit card was credited by the end of January, and I have not yet received the issue Nยฐ 23… It was much better when it was “Internationl Air Power”!!!!!
You just have proven my point. ๐ If IAPR procecces all the subscribitions at once (which is the most likely) delays can only be caused the national post services. How do you explain than that I never had any problems. Do they take better care of my subscribtion than yours?? ๐ I don’t think so.
Hmm… I maybe have to agree with You but following latest reports it seems as they are finally on the way “back on track”. What I’ve heard around is that we can at least be lucky the IAPR is still alave and following a re-organisation they try to catch up with these delays.
Its true they did some re-organizing and things will improve considerably. Although I have a subscribition for two years now and never experienced any delays. Also my free issue for becoming a subscriber was received promptly.
Perhaps your national or local post service is to blame. :dev2:
Transnistria Air Force
Very interesting Flex. ๐
Here some background info: http://www.bogdan-george-radulescu.ro/librarie/transnistria_arms_exports_middle_east.pdf
facts over fiction
Why consequences?. That’s in my view jumping to conclusions,. The article states “So why was the delayed decision? Industry officials aren’t certain, but there’s plenty of speculation it could be linked to the U.S. Air Force KC-X Tanker decision. With that announcement — picking a Northrop Grumman team over Boeing — being so contentious and BAMS involving the two firms, some industry executives suspect the Navy may have wanted to gain some distance from the political tanker debate. Of course, it could just could have been a simple scheduling issue.” Please lets stick to the facts……..:dev2:
free trade and making sure you offer the right product for the best price
If he bars the Pentagon from buying from firms receiving subsidies from foreign governments, Boeing is ineligible for Pentagon contracts.:diablo: The 787 receives subsidies from Japan & Italy.
Thats exactly the problem. The Aviation industry (like the Automotive industry) nowadays is truly GLOBAL. Although some politicians use protectionistic language (often just for their own agendas) global co-operation makes protectionism almost impossible to put into practise. Thats why free trade and making sure you offer the right product for the best price is the only solution. Boeing failed this time. Get over it and move on. NG/EADS was lucky and now for them the real challenge starts. ๐
– The story that this deal will create jobs in US is a ferry tale. I watched Euronews and the CEO of Airbus said clearly that the plane will be ansambled in US; the wings will be made in UK, the fuselages in Germany and France .
What about a new factory which is build and the spin off for US companies see http://www.northropgrumman.com/kc45/benefits/impact.html and gone is “the ferry tale?”. :p
– If anyone believe that there will be any reciprocity he’s naive. I don’t see France or Germany buying anything consistent from US for their armed forces (except some improvement contracts for the Franch E3s and E2s, or some dozens of ESSMs and RAMs for the German navy);.
What about many other European companies highly involved in building the JSF. They will buy soon hundreds of F-35. Should they think the same way and buy Eurofighter?? ๐
– I think that the little pricks in USAF staff do not relize that those 40 billions will come from the US taxpayers, including thousands of Boeing workers; .
These “little picks” want the best for the lowest price, so every taxpayers dream. ๐ฎ
– If there was a little chance for USAF to receive more thatn 187 Raptors, I think that it’s gone. In 2030 I can see USAF still flying F15Cs. They will fly them maybe 30 hours/year, they will be restriceted to 2-3 G and 0.9 Mach, bet hey, they could be refuelled by superb, brand new A 330.
Nice to have lots of state of the art Raptors and fifty years tankers refueling them.
Is there a preface for volume 24? In other words, are some subjects/features/reports for the next volume already known?
No, there is no preface. But I know it will at least feature Oregon Defenders โ Part Two which covers in depth the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and itโs Group/Air Stations in the Pacific Northwest.
Will scan content a little later and post it.
See below. Enjoy………..
Volume 23

Thanks Quinny, a nice one, but I think the Brits learned it from the Americans:

There are two H-6s visible inflight over China, see if you can find them…
Dear SOC, any idea how big China is??? Fortunately I found this link http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/1083956/an/0/page/0#1083956 :p
Still haven’t found the Vasylkiv ground technical school yet (probably in low-res), but not too far from Vasylkiv airbase, in the town, there are two wing-clipped Su-17s and what appears to be a Yak-27/28!
I was looking at that one too but you are right Arthur, its still in the low res area just above the Su-17s and Yak. Perhaps we see more on a next GE update. By the way thanks for the DOSAAF update, great and very usefull……….
