Just to bring this thread back to Museums and Aircraft, one of the members of my Model Flying club went to Hendon to inspect and photograph the Valient for the 17′ span model he was making (powered by 2 Jetcats) he was only allowed in the Valient for an hour at a time due to the high levels of radiation still present after carrying Nuclear weapons
According to their 25th anniversary Brochure (1971) the next step was transatlantic, and there is a picture of a 707 in the Black and Gold Livery, and there was a painting behind Jack Jones’ desk showing Concorde in Channel Black & Gold Livery……what might have been…;)
The 4 Comets that they bought from Olympic were retained predominately in their Olympic colours, but you are correct with the Viscounts & Jets

Unleaded is gently rising on Octane at the moment, standard is 95, BP offer Unltimate at 97, and now Tescos super is 99. Avgas is 100
It makes a huge difference to my Wife’s Honda CRV, but hardly noticable in my Impreza:D
Currently circling St Ives/Wyton/Warboys is an Aircraft of Lockheed Electra Descent, can’t be an Orion due to the lack of a MAD boom, but seems to have a large bulge under the Fuselage ahead of the Wings……Something waiting/Looking for Mildenhall?
We have just started using it for our School PTA, it seems to be a good idea, I just keep forgetting to go through their portal to get the cash…
