There’s another 10 of them a few yards south west…
shame, nice to see something different, and the owners obviously rate them
A small thing, but I insisted that my kids bought their Duxford Airshow souvenirs from the VTTSC stall on Sunday, the whole family has Vulcan socks now, and my daughter loves her ‘Brunty Bear’, I found yet another Corgi Wessex….
As I said, small beer, but if everyone does it , it is money that you’d spend anyway, and my kids have become very enthusiastic about the whole thing
Great story, I suppose the S**t hit the fan when they got back? 😀
That looks too clean a break to be carbon fibre failure, that looks much more like the bonding of 2 sections has failed
Patient: Doctor, Doctor it hurts when I move my arm like this…
Doctor: Don’t move it like that then!
Great story Bigglesworth
Gooney Bird, you might want to post this on General Aviation as well, I know that some of those guys have frequented Ipswich International in the past
The Dak takeoff is still a great thing to see, it’s tail was up in barely one turn of the wheel in that headwind!
One of my course-mates on 68 Crewman Course was the youngest Sergeant in the RAF at that point at 17, I was much older at 19!
P.S.
Did do a Chinese Stirling once but camouflage too effective and cant find it anywhere….
LOL 😀
I wasn’t aware that the Goose is being (re)built, I want one of those!
There is nothing like splashing around with a big pair of radials either side of your head 😀
We’ve changed plans from saturday to Sunday (that’s please the wife…not!)
My own experiment was to convert the Sunderland into BOAC markings and fare over the turrets, I made the transfers out of Scotch tape, they tended to peel off with age.
Strangely enough I have a half-built one that is mid-conversion!
TT, I assume that one of your Stirlings is in the Chinese livery? 😀
I guess you’ll just get to meet all the Tornado and Chinook crews who won’t be bothered to talk to Norwich either 😮
At least the A10 Warthogs aren’t there anymore, one knocked the tail off of an Anglia Flight Training 150 in 1985, killing the Cessna Pilot. The Warthog driver looked down to change his radio frequency and heard a bang, presumed it be a birdstrike, and continued on his way….. 😮
Shame, it was good to learn mixing it with F27s and the occasional visiting Tornado/Chinook on approach.
I was thinking of taking a trip up there once I had re-qualled, for old times sake, but probably won’t now…..
Saw the item, very interesting
