or a quick trip to an architectural salvage yard……

Didn’t notice the radiator – but the phone seemed a bit 1960s…..

Why worry, in another 20 years Scampton will be a Housing estate and Nigger will have been relocated. (Gibsons dog)

    Happy landings!!

For the enthusiast who has everything and who would sit on the floor behind his sofa to admire it.

    Chippy Tollerton

I flew my first dragger solo on this a/c on 11.8.88, G-BDBP 12.45/ 13.35. I have a photo as i taxied in canopy back two notches grin from ear to ear. I then went on to fly the tugs at H-B and another 1200hrs on Chippys to date.
I do not know what happened to this a/c but the group/club was run by some guy called Bill????? who would often fly it to the north of the field and perform poor aeros.

    Happy landings Bill!!!!!

    Virtual theft?

The priceless cockpit interior shots of the F4 Phantoms both show that the first removable/desirable item, the clock has gone!!

    Waiting with hope.

This is interesting news. Where will it move to when A&G have the contract for disposals taken off them/expires/not renewed?

    Hunter XL613

Looking at this thread it is interesting to see what became of my old a/c.

When they came up for disposal i purchased two Hunter T7s that were lying at Shawbury XL573 and XL613.

Total cost £1755 each plus VAT.

    Happy days!!!!

    Cannock Chase.

    After a google i found the pilot to be Flt Lt. Lester Sanders DFC. 23 yrs old. Who was killed;

This Spit broke up whilst on dive tests over the Chase. The Malta Spit was BR108 a Vc.

    Spitfire Crash

I recall viewing a Spitfire that had been recovered from just off the coast of Malta in the Museum. The pilot had ditched (a good idea as the fields in Malta are all tiny surrounded by stone walls)after being shot down. He had survived only to be posted back to Castle Bromwich, being killed some months after the ditching whilst on a test flight. I know that it was local to me and believe that was at Cannock, or was it MIRA (Nuneaton)

    Squandered??????

Sometimes the line is on the back. I just tripped myself up on evilbay. Waited smugly for a set of ‘original’ Sunderland notes to turn up with a couple of other publications. On opening the package there was the copyright on the back. £4.99 squandered!

Are you joking? £4.99p for a set of original notes!! If you thought that you would get anything original for a fiver you are nuts. You really need to shape up.
