Buried?????
When it comes to buried god knows what god knows where, it would appear that the most likely find may be a head in sand.
830 Nortons
Having ridden 830 Commandos i would say the dealer was doing all real riders a favour!!!!! Unless they were shimmed up right they snaked like *******s. They should still be buried!!!! I know it says 850 but they were really 830.
Stress
Yes.
The grind of a Grippen Pilot??
Steady dude, you may enjoy the job, but the grind keep it toyourself!!!!
Thanks, that may be the case in respect of instruments to be used in flyers, however mine is static/just for show!! Perhaps an oil filter strap and brute force???
If this a/c is where i think it is i doubt that it will get any tlc!!!!
Most informative, interesting book.
Still reading Mike, I will bring it up next time i see you so you can sign it for me. Cheers dude!!!!!!
ps got some Gun spook kit for your seat.
Happy landingds & new year.
If it is the correct PSP it will have the velcro that matches the velcro on the para pack, so that they hold together (ish)!!!
That would attach to the apron on the seat that connects to the drogue chute. MB 2CA !!
It really might have been nice if it had stayed at Cosford for a couple of years in view that they were made just around the corner at Pendeford.
Still everything needs to gravitate to London or its environs it would appear.
I think the give away is the velcro on top of the chute pack. The chute goes in the seat pan followed by the PSP which has the matching velcro on its base.
Martin Baker 2CA1/2 seats and maybe some others.
However maybe they used the same pack outer on various jobs!!
Not sure looks quite like the kit off a Canberra 2CA ejection seat. Minus the PSP.
Tony T,
i recall the Hunter from Brawdy that was abandoned after being pointed out to sea, which then did a 180 only to fly up Tintagel high st. and crash against the corner of a building. The chap up a ladder some feet away was quite surprised but uninjured. This about 1980.
Happy landings
Living in Catthorpe under some of approachs to Cov from the south we used to get frequent overflights at night at a thousand feet or maybe less. These were i believe mail flights in free airspace.
No one in this or to my knowledge other local villages ever complained.
However Thompsons planned expansion of controled airspace out to the east as far as Stanford Hall/Stengun lake would have harmed Cov GC (Hus Bos).
Cov airfield looks a perfect brown field site.
Happy landing (Somewhere else)
Not wishing to stray from the thread in any way, all i would say is the sooner Coventry international !!!!!! is closed the better. Its runway is directly at 90% to BHX which is about to be expanded over the A45 to be a really useful proper Midland international airport. Once more Tony T where in the Midlands do you live? Carlisle is fine, your previous home is fine.
Coventry is fine, not a God awful place. I note you and the guy who is concerned i am going off piste have thousands of posts.
I dont have that much time to spare.
Happy landings.
