Hi there veryone, i have one question i would like to ask , not sure if this was brought up before:
During the 2003 invasion why didnt Saddam deploy his airforce to defend the airspace, why did he choose the bury them and not use his aircraft to defend themselves.
Hi i just want to ask one thing, maybe it was repeted early in the forum. Did the Iraqi air force give any ressistance to the invading US in 2003.
what happened to that order of those long range planes JAT was suppost to get in 1999 i think.
i was wondering about the Mig-29’s. how many are in the airforce.
Wow Croatia is getting some new Equpiment. These things cost and how is Croatia going to pay for them. They still have debts from when they borrowed money from the US and other countries during the Croatian-Serbian War. Now Croatians are sending troops to Afghanistan, reason( so they can get their credit rating up to borrow more money) Croatia is going to fall in a mess if they keep doing this.
Man they are in bad condition.
I also heard Saddam was offering like a few million dollars to anyone who shot down a US aircraft.
I was wondering when the US created the NO-FLY ZONES over Iraq, were there any dogfights?
This info is very confusing, first it talks about an SA-6 then a MIG-21  , WAPJ are very confusing.
nice pics
Thanks FA-18ORDNANCE.
hey does anybody know the aircraft that shot the US plane over Iraq.
PEOPLE STOP POSTING IN THIS THREAD THERE ARE ALREADY LIKE 5. 😡
Iraq operated a small number of Tu-22s, including some of the later missile carrying K versions, though I have never seen a picture of the latter.
In terms of other bombers they operated the Tu-16 badger (along with an unknown number of H-6s) . Depending how you define bomber versus strike you could also include IL-28s and perhaps Su-22s and Su-24 in there too.
thanks for the info.
hi again,
I know the Iraqis operated one bomber the TU-22 ( i think) but was that the only one.
