    PLA’s real name of course!

This is another of the AWAC conversions so note the white rotodome. IIRC there were 3 prototypes

Garry, I’m talking about the early fuclrum-As and not the latest ones.

Let’s talk about the figure of 1500 km for range first. Does’nt seem bad at all. The range with the centreline tank is pretty good and it can be jettisoned during combat if needed. However, despite all this, many including pilots label the Mig-29 as “too shortlegged to be of any usefulness other than point defence”

Now why don’t we hear similar complaints about the F/A-18, F-16 or Mirage-2000? The only advantage they had is that even their earlier versions could carry underwing drop tanks or had IFR unlike the Mig-29 as well as their their higher loadouts.

    Back to AWACS,

Let’s go back to what google said. This is certainly a humungous rotodome to put on the Hs-748..

It was considered short ranged because it was. It was the short range interceptor to the Flanker.

Compared to the Flanker, even the Eagle is short ranged. That’s not the point.

How does the Mig-29’s range on internal fuel compare to the F-16 or F/A-18 or Mirage-2000? 1500 km does’nt seem to be that far off or could even be better.

Some guy at ACIG even put up an article which says that the Mig-29 has half the range of the F-16! 😀

    indian1973,

Plumbing the inner hardpoints are no big deal.

Wolverine and co., don’t bother to address the flamebait of the idiot hiding behind the handle PLA.

If comparing the LCA with other these era plane is seen as fighting then the pathetic level is shown by the number of replies made by the LCA lovers here.

What’s pathetic is a pakistani like yourself hiding behind a chinese handle and trying to poop on a thread that has absolutely no relation to you. If you have heartburn, go start a thread of your own and post your ridiculous whine and BS there. Otherwise, stick to your pak forums where the crap flows freely.

I am not jealous. Never will. Wake up.

I think your immature trash speaks for itself. If you intend to take down every thread one by one with your flame, you’re pretty mistaken.

Is the APY-1/2 electronically scanned in elevation?

What kind of antennae did the older Hawkeye radars use?

What’s the difference between optical and digital zoom?

I wanna buy a digicam that’s capable of photographing flying aircraft or atleast low flying ones with good resolution. What kind of kit would I need?

If they are fighting India and the IAF you can bet it will be

Well duh PhantomII, do you think they’ll be fighting Kazakhstan? Yes, pakistan will be terrible shape if things like war occur.Today, they are’nt anywhere close to the training and quality of their indian counterparts either so it won’t be favourable for them at any stage of the conflict. My question is on the probability of nuclear material or even warheads getting “exported” or smuggled out as a result. If pakistan can supply nuclear tech to N.Korea (not that I totally beleive that but there are credible reports), imagine the case with nukes lying around for anyone’s taking!!!! 😮 😮

    Will an indo-pak war

    a) Allow the easy access/distribution of nukes in pakistan to terrorists? (Assuming the state is in a bad shape after war)
    or
    b) Allow for a US presence to find and disarm or remove the remaining/existing ones?
