There are so many questions to ask, it may be worth you sending me a PM or E-mail with more details including an address, site plan and the local authority concerned and I’ll give you a bit of free advice.
If the private car park, whatever that means, is within the curtilage of a Listed Building, or a conservation area, you will probably be stuffed!!!!
I can certainly provide u with a site plan and photo’s (of said site) via pm – will send them at some point over the easter weekend, we have no listed buildings or conervation area issues with the site.
We do however have a row of aprox 10 houses and a shop starting 350 ft to the right hand side of the carpark.
I see you come from Swad, does that mean Swadlincote, if so I’ve never had anything to do with that authority for many years I’m afraid.
Yes this project is taking place in the South Derbshire council area but is not in the main Swadlincote center.
The scope for accidents is huge, from ingesting fod, running people over, or even a slip of the throttle, and powering into someone’s house. Better to stick to tied-doen engine runs.
We have no plans to taxi the jet only to run the engine and other sytems on a static basis.
Thank you to Merlin70 for your imput and links to further information, a good deal of reading materail there.
Paint it pink, stick a flower up the tail pipe, aanounce that it an art installation pertaining to ‘The Futility Of War’ and they will probably give you a bl**dy grant.
THEN……………………………….rev the nuts off it!
Pink hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm and a flower lol we have a girly jet 😛
Anyway I’m going to have a second good read of the advice I have been given and try and get my head round it all.
Please forgive my ignorance in not replying sooner, my nice new usb modem decided to pack up working and have been waiting on a replacement.
Normally I would have replied via works computers but they are currently on a big thing against non business use of web (blame the fool caught spending 3 or 4 hrs per day on bebo when meant to be working ffs).
I can only apologize if people feel Ive wasted or taken advantage of there time this was not my intention at all and again I offer my apologies.
Thank you to all who have replied so far, I’m going to have a good read of the advice you’ve given and will post back later tonight or tomorrow morning.
You joined in November 2007? I’ve been here for around 6 years at a guess and in that time have seen numerous instances where people tar all with the same brush. “All travellers are scum.” “All thieves should have their hands chopped off.” “I’d give ’em a good kicking.” “Deport them.” These are the very same people who would require the full protection of the Law and the term innocent until proven guilty, until it’s someone else then they’re fair game. The discrimination that pours out of the mouths of so called educated people just has to be seen to be believed. They pour forth all kinds of bile and vitriol. Yet these are the same people who would never dream of volunteering to do a stint as security, or to join the Police, they just sit back and spout.
I’m so sorry I give a crap I really am, I’m so sorry I care enough to get upset over these matters, for your information I do alot of positive stuff however I do so quietly and without the need to broadcast it all on the web.
When I pass threw the local graveyard (4 or 5 days a week) I clean up any litter I come across in the place return any items back to the correct graves, all done from my own back simply out of respect.
Also If I walk past the local war memorial I will remove any litter – and put back any wreathes that some idiots have usually thrown around.
Finlay If I do see people causing a problem in these area’s I try to educate them as to the meanings of these places, sadly I often get told to sod off and also am told who cares – whats it got 2 do with you.
You know what I would love to provide some form of voluntary security if something could be arranged and you what maybe I would have considered a police or armed forces job but I have physical, learning and emotional disability’s that rule such a choice out.
Hey you know what I guess said disability’s mean I can claim to be having a hard life and can go around stealing , wrecking and doing as I please without any care for anyone but myself, but I have such a thing as a conscience and respect for others so I will keep quietly doing what I can when I can.
I’m not going to be sorry for my views and that is anyone caught attacking these memeorails should after a fair trail (under full english law) be given the punsishment of chopped off hands and should be removed to a remote Island and left to rot.
Maybe many will say my views are strong or offensive but at least I have the guts to express my thoughts and I refuse to feel sorry for such thoughts.
Oh and I have some bloody good reasons why I feel so strongly but I’m not going to post them on a public forum for all to read.
I might be cleaning a couple of headstones of Great War airmen in the next couple of weeks, perhaps andrewman would care to come and chop my hands off for this wanton act of vandalism?
No I would not care to chop of your hands, but I do support it being used for those who steal – destroy memeorials, headstones etc, and you know what I will stand up for my views and my opinions.
Are any of these Jaguar’s in running condtion, if so can we hope for a ground run at the airshow ?
Also do Cosford still have the Jet Provest’s for ground training ?
Totaly disgraceful – the person(s) who done this should be kicked out the country and put on a remote island and left to rot.
Anyone who can do sumthing like this is pure scum I only wished they have cut there hands of trying to nick the memorial – would have served em bloody right.
Yes a wonderful sight, sadly a sight one will not be able to enjoy for much longer 🙁
Anyone remember the two at
Cottesmore that year who ended up with what was it, 20% burns. I don’t think they will try that number again
Oh yes I remember that incident rather well lol – it was alot more than 2 people who were burnt but in all honesty most people sufferd only minor burns or cuts.
After the incident a number of those who got hurt were trying to sue the MOD and RIAT and the pilots of the B1-B despite the fact they chose to stand behind the aicraft and in fact to do so had trespased into an unsafe area that was closed to the public.
you’re not going to be flying at **000 odd ft in the circuit at Duxford are you????
Well they do at Farnbourgh lol
If an airshow did want to bring some of Thunder city’s or another companys ex milatry jets over for an airshow (even just for the static display) what would the CAA view the idea like – would they have any serrious objections to an aircraft simply flying into an airshow for a static display then flying back home after the airshow ?
XH134 (I think) is the most likely to get into the luft again for a few filghts
Do you mean that something is being planned with regards to getting XH134 flying or did u just mean its the most suitable of the 3 aircraft in question to be returned to flight.
Getting back to the subject of XR724 im sure ive seen photos of it being run in the last couple of months but they only ran 1 engine at a time.
Vulcan XM575 at East Midlands has its apu and electrical systems run up on occasions 🙂
The engines in said Vulcan are also runnable but sadly they are not allowed to start them due to noise regulations (and to think its kept at a busy airport).
Also the Buccaneer at East Midlands has working engines but is also unable to be run up for the same reason as the Vulcan.
Seems a good idea 🙂
However in my opinion the best memorial we have for the Spitfire and those associated with it is the flying examples 🙂
