Nice photo of the Strikemaster, do many of the classic jets use these low flying zone’s ?
As for a candidate I think you are looking at XS458 really, yes there is XR724 and possible an ex Saudi airframe or even XS903
You ain’t got a hope of getting XS903 flying again, its starting to corode, it aint got engines and its not had its systems run up in about 20 years, its a nice enough static exhibit but it wont ever be anything more.
Someone mentioned last week, maybe because one of the VTS Trustee’s is also involved in Duxford. It will never fast taxi there, if it did go there. Since when did Duxford have a policy of fast taxi’s? I would be asking for the TSR 2 to taxi first!
Totaly agree it wont ever fast taxi at Duxford that’s just the plan, seems madness to me, I agree Duxford dont have any policy of fast taxi runs, also keeping a Vulcan in taxing condtion is a rather big job, what plans and people would Duxford have in place to support this if it did happen ?
Would them “b*****ds who made that s*** about civies flying complex jets” be the same people who allow the Sea Vixen to fly, and if the rebuilds and funds are sorted will let the Bucc and Vulcan fly.
A few years back I was all hopeful we would have Lightning’s, Phantom’s and Victors etc all flying in the UK, however when you start talking to people and look at what we have and realistically could have we should be very pleased, calling people “b*****ds” and saying they want a “good kick up the backside” is not going to help anything at all.
The whole XH558 issue becomes more of a farce every week, and why oh why if it ever does fly do they want to send it to Duxford when it stops flying again, I did here something about it being kept in taxing condtion at Duxford but if thats the plan why not get XJ824 into taxing condtion ? and keep XH558 at Brunty after its flying life is over, or retire it to somewhere like Elvington.
Talking of Canberra’s has WK163 flown again yet ?, it was down to fly at Duxford on Sunday but never turned up, however the rain may have been the reason for this.
I also see that 575 is being repainted. Are her systems still runnable?
Some of the electrical systems were still working back in 2004, not sure if they still are.
Nice to see the Meteor out and about.
Just goes to show you can’t rely on a mil pilots forum to be too hot on a/c recognition
How the hell a Sea Hawk and Sea Vixen can be mixed up I have no idea, still the main thing is the pilot and the jet are both ok.
“English Electric Canberra Classic Aircraft Projects”
Has this flown yet ?
Love the Typhoon photos, keep up the good work 🙂
Thanks for the link 🙂
I’m rather confused, and I would think the people who’s photo’s you have posted will be somewhat upset if you have not been given correct permission.
That hanger will make all the difference when it gets built, sorry to be ignorant but are there any other airframes on display at the Manchester viewing area ?
What a waste, shown below is the Trident taken in Febuary last year it was looking rather good back then.
