What are the chances of the CAA allowing a ferry flight if a new owner wished to move the aircraft to a museum or alternative location for storage or maintenance etc ?
A somewhat stupid question but is there a minimum amount of time the Vulcan must be ground run for prior to being able to fly ?.
Thanks for the info HHA I though it was unlikely to be true but hoped it was if you know what I mean.
Is XF995 still at Boscombe or does it live at Scampton now ?
Excuse my ignorance but what is an MRG unit ?
Sorry about the thread title :p
Just goes to prove nowhere is safe these days.
Still you do sort of have to see the funny side of it don’t ya 🙂

No, he means Hendon. The Valiant was only moved to Cosford last year.
That’s right before going to Hendon it spent a few years sitting at Marham and just before it was moved to Hendon the story I was told it someone powered it up just to see what would happen and all the systems started.
No, the primary reason for the decision was the wings were likely to fall off.
Nothing to serious then 🙂
Im sure I was once told that just prior to the Valiant moving to Hendon someone decided to power it up and found a lot of its electrical system was still working despite the fact it had spent a fair amount of time sitting outside without any work being done to it.
I thought the plan was to get the Hunter and a couple of other aircraft flying again and to have the Starfighter rebuilt to fast taxing condtion.
Am I alone in questioning the sanity of a ministry which finds it a sensible idea to pay private security to guard empty dispersals, yet sends troops into battle with no kit?
No your not the only one who finds it rather strange to say the least.
That’s wonderful news 🙂 🙂 🙂
The day when it fly’s again comes ever closer 🙂 🙂
Well done to everyone who is working so hard to get the Vulcan flying again,
are they still working night shifts at Brunty ?
The staff in Kemble’s tower have also started a petition so the more people that can call in and sign it the better.
I think next time Nimby’s shut something down or get it restricted then something like a landfill site or sewage works should be built on the site, that might make others think twice before moaning 🙂
What a load of clowns, and to think we pay £130 plus a year for these idiots.
