Yes Peter the XL319 is rapidly going the same way as the Blackpool example.
Also the Norwich example is not looking at its best.
I’m not getting at anyone involved with the 2 Vulcan’s mentioned above I’m just trying to be honest with people.
Lets face it almost all aircraft are at the end of the day lumps of metal and with the best intentions in the world any lump of metal left outside in the British climate will eventual corrode and rot away.
Before the next crop of big stuff (A-wack Nimrod VC10) etc goes into museums lets look at the chance of getting them inside and undercover as no matter how much money you chuck at an outdoor aircraft one day it will be wasted as corrosion will eat into it to an extent it will be unsurvivable.
I really hope this Bucc goes to a good home.
Its in very good condition and needs to stay undercover to keep it that way.
Might have to e-mail the MAM to find out the details of this JP.
XM605 is a real shame as just a few years back their was someone working away on it and he got some electrical systems working and hoped long term to run the engines. Sadly the museum put a ban on him working on the Vulcan.
XL319 is far to gone to be saved and should be scrapped asap so it can still provide usable parts for better conditioned Vulcan’s.
Where did those harriers go ? anybody know ?
At least 1 is in the USA as part of a project to get a GR3 flying again.
I would like to see XW986 display at Farnbrough in 2006 🙂

Thanks for the clarification anyway what plane do you own ?

Is their any way the CAA could stop taxi runs if they wanted to as until anything takes of its simply a “device” traveling down a runway at high speed not an operational aircraft.
Very nice photos Steve thanks for posting them.
Well, the repercussions would be huge so I hope it’s just idle curiosity on my part – but it’s a nice thought!
I think the CAA would be furious but what could they do after the event.
NX611 is the heart of the Heritage Centre at East Kirkby, which isn’t really about flying lancasters, it’s about remembering those who flew.
Well said Robbo and to be honest I don’t think their is any need to get it airworthy we already have an airworthy Lancaster and so its not like we don’t get to see one flying.
The thing with East Kirkby is its not a suitable place to operate an airworthy Lancaster from thus meaning NX611 would have to move to another base and the heart of an excellent museum would be ripped out and that seems so uncalled for while PA747 is still airworthy.

How are things going with regards to going the rest of your F.58 Hunters flying again.
Also I thought you might like the photo I tuck of your Hunter flying out of Waddo on the airshow Saturday. I believe it displayed at Goodwood before displaying at Waddo is this correct.
I for one appreciate how lucky we are to have the BBMF every time the Lancaster turns up to an airshow.
Looking at any display line up at Duxford and it was appear that we are slow in either persuading the likes of the OFMC or TFC to swap their American charges with British designed and built airframes, or they are sacrificing our heritage so these few individuals can fly fast piston-engined Cadillacs
Excuse me but what bloody right do we have to “persuade” any operator’s to swap the American or any other foreign aircraft for that matter.
We should in fact be giving our full support to anyone who is willing to put anything on the airshow circuit no matter where or by whom it was built.
We will always have the BBMF to represent the British aircraft from WW2 irrespective of what any groups like OFMC and TFC etc decide to do.
Thanks for the info and photos everyone.
I never had a clue that the Crunchie and Utterlie Butterlie teams were the same team.
