Thanks Glen.
Anyone have any idea when this Mossie might fly again ?
Be nice to get it over to Duxford one day 🙂
Hi Arm Waver
Excuse my ignorance but is it numbers of people upsetting this clown or the frequency of events ?
More likely they had a complaint from some NIMBY type idiot.
To be honest you would have to be very thick to move to an airport or airbase and then complain of jet noise.
Reminds of fool who brought a house less than a mile away from Waddo early this year and was trying to get me to fill in petition to ban flights in and out of the base.
“Vulcan B2K XH561 50 Sqdn Falklands War air-to-air tanker”
Sorry to pick fault but the K2 Vulcan was never involved in the Falklands war in any shape or forum.
The K2’s were only ordered after the war as the Victor K2’s were staying in the South Atlantic.
Peter I’m not sure if they dry turn the Vulcan’s engines but many years ago they were all in running condition and were stared up from time to time.
I have no idea if the Varsity can still be run but it would be nice if they did.
Nope their was nobody working on the Bucc. However the Lightning was being worked on and the refueling probe was being tested.
I don’t have any photos from inside the Vulcan as I was to busy looking around and enjoying the visit inside to take photos. It looked like the apu had been run up in the last few days and while the paint is faded the Vulcan is in good condition when you get close to it.
Glad you liked the photos Peter 🙂
I remember being told about a black Lancaster on display in the naval dockyard at Murmansk in the early 1990’s so I guess anything is possible.
It might not be that far fetched to assume their were several black Lancaster doing the rounds in the years after ww2.
Lets face out of some 4000 that were built its not like people would miss a couple that were used for “black projets” or whatever.
“Is the Royal Navy Wessex a new addition”
No idea to be honest as I have not been their for a few years.
Thanks 2 you both for the comments 🙂
Like I said before the Duxford Victor is an absolute disgrace.
The fact that examples of Hunters and the like all of which have plenty of examples are indoors at Duxford while this rare aircraft is outside is beyond all reason.
A few more for you all to enjoy.
How dare you who the hell do you think you are.
And yes I readyour post in the Lancaster thread and it was very upsetting and uncalled for so go away and dont come back again you sick little freak.
Thanks for posting them photos 🙂
There are also stories of a black Lancaster that used to fly out or the Murmansk area to test the UK defences but all of them have one flaw.
This black Lancaster was flying around in trhe 40 and 50s. However it was something to do with radar testing and ECM development.
A Shack could easily be mistaken for a Lancaster in the twilight, couldn’t it? Especially if it were modified a bit for this ‘new’ equipment
I had similar thoughts myself to be honest and it would be more useful to test systems in a Shack as a lot of the electrics and other gear would fit inside one a lot better than in a Lanc.
I have no idea i’m just passing on what I was told.
