Hi Kev
Its nice to see you posting your photos once again 🙂
Did you get any photos of the Hunters ?
Yeah their are plenty of what ifs with this one but who knows ?
It would not be that hard for BAE to build a Lancaster at Woodford even now they still have loads of documents and bits of gear around some of it pre ww2.
How else do they have the data needed to deal with PA747.
If small groups can build full size flying ME 262’s etc then BAE can easily build a Lancaster.
As for it being silent I myself find that hard to believe.
If they did have this Lancaster flying around in the 80s testing secret stuff would they not have used modern engines ?
The real interesting point is if this Lancaster was flying back then what ever happened to it could it still be stashed away at Woodford ?
That brown bin is very useful for photo work. It makes an excellent stand I mean come on I’m not gonna put a new Lancaster model worth £100 or whatever on wet grass or a new £15 quid firework.
The following photos are for all you brown bin fans 🙂
Nice photos it looks like you had a good day.
Does anyone know if their are plans to repaint the rasta cat soon ?
Yeah we have one with a flower on at last 🙂
Thanks adwwebber but I have the transport sorted.
Thanks anyway for the offer it is appreciated.
Thanks everyone, glad you enjoyed the photos 🙂
Think I will give it a mess this time.
Its Shugbrough on the 4th and that’s one of the biggest firework events of the year and runs till 11pm so I wont be home till the early hours.

Hopefully they will get their airshow back on track for 2005.
Last 2.
Another lot.
Some more.
Here is the next lot.
Maybe the Concorde that now sits at the Manchester airport viewing area.
The example’s at Manchester and Barbados are considered the best 2 examples should a return to flight ever become possible.
However for something a bit more sensibe I would say NX611 the Lancaster at East Kirby.
Should anything ever happen to PA747 and lets hope it never does then it would be nice if the BBMF could get NX611 flying as a replacement in fact this would proberly be the only option as the one at Hendon will never fly again.
Damien that is one nice photo you can almost feel the noise and power just by looking at that photo 🙂
It makes the Hunter ground run I was at recently seem very very calm but I can assure you standing right next to a Hunter when its having a full power engine test is bloody loud.
I so wish the owner of this T5 would do public events but at the end of the day its his plane and he can do what he likes with it lets just be glad that this Lightning is not in the same mess several others are.
David – The Larsen at Cranfield has sat inactive for a very long time and would require serious amounts of cash and time to get in running condition let alone airworthy.
However I’m sure for the first year or two their would be regular airshow bookings if the cost could be kept to a standard level ie the same as a Hunter or Vampire etc.
But after a while the novelty tends to wear off with a lot of people and then things go downhill.
Still to bring the Swedish one over even just for say a month to make a few airshow appearance’s would be a nice boost to the airshow season and would add a bit of variety to events like Kemble and the hoped for jets display at Brunty in 2005.
