I expect the owners of the MIG have looked into the chances of airshow bookings etc before starting work on this.
I think however it will get plenty of interest as you don’t see many of them around.
How did the MIG-15 that was with OFMC do were their many airshow jobs for it and how different is it from the MIG-17 with regards to flying in private hands ?
Their are only houses and lampposts round my area M8.
So looks like I will have to have a trip down to the sticks 🙂

OK maybe I got carried away but their has to be more of a chance of the MIG-17 flying than the Lightning ever had or will have.
Well thats all looking very positive.
The CAA site says its “Awaiting Certification” so that usually means its a yes from them.
I was using a Fashion Cam
It only cost me £40 🙂

Hi Ant
Nice work M8 a very well put letter,
Any chance you could p/m their address I would like to write in also.
Hi scott c
I got the info from a M8 who has plenty of involvement with these sort of things down in South Africa.
Also how is your F3 going M8 ?
Also the Saudis have restored a Lightning to full static running condition and it would take only a small amount of work to fly it again.
I believe its still single seat M8
They are going to do a few other projects down at thunder city
Their next big project is rumored to be either an F4 phantom or one of the S50 Bucc’s.
Also they are looking into getting a T2 Jaguar in a couple of years.
Also the Airworthy Shack may be kept in taxing condition their when it finally stops flying.
And I think Miss Demeanor and the Vixen look bloomin’ gorgeous. But it is still only personal opinion
I agree with you 100% the Sea Vixen looks very good but was good in its D3 paint also.
The last flight of 611 was either to Blackpool or Scampton.
Anyone any idea which one is right
Hi
Where are you going to keep your JP ?
Hi buccsociety
Thanks M8 if you could also let me have one of 528 that would be very useful.
Thanks for your help
I had a look at XL502 last summer and its going bad very bad I don’t think it will ever fly again a good static display maybe taxi runs is the best way forward for it.
XL500 however seems in good condition and yes I believe many of its systems still work.
Also the Gannet at Newark looks in good condition and was run up a couple of times in the mid 80s.
Finlay what happened to the plan to fly XA459 this Gannet’s owners were hoping to build a hanger and then rebuild it to fly but nothing has been herd for a few months.
