This Bucc nose section in the photos was due to go to Belguim as a complete aircraft but after no attempt to move the planee was made for a long time the Raf put a parking fee on the plane.

In the end the Ofmc brought the plane to provide parts for XX885 at scampton.

The aircraft was then scrapped with the nose section stored at Brunty for the Belgiun but passed to Phonix Avation late last year.

    David

It dosent have to be a T5 that is just the first choice dont ask why I have no idea.

Your right the Caa would permit a lightning to fly if they thaught it could be flown safely and maintained to their high standards.

Also the company that are doing the project would not have done all this preperation if they felt they had no chance of getting anywhere.

This is going to happen just wait and see In fact they have looked at one airframe in the last few weeks and have said It would be sutiable but as I have said they want to look at others first.

No offence to those who think this is a joke but your gonna look very very silly when you open your a copy of flypast ect later this year sept/oct time and see that a T5 has been sold to a well know airshow operator who will be makeing a serrious atempt to get it flying again.

    This is a fact

Well let me clear up my first post in this thread.

1 A uk based company are planing to contact several T5 owners over the summer to ask for permision to inspect the planes to see if they are sutiable for a rebuild to fly.

2 The comapny in question has funds to pay for and rebuild the plane to flying condition.

3 They hope to begin talking with the Caa and Bae very soon about getting a permit to fly.

4 They have been looking for spares and ground support equipment this has alredy resulted in spars being obtained.

5 a serch of pilots and ground crew will begin soon.

My first sentence in my first post was based on the fact that I have this info the rest was my thaughts on what might happen next.

If anyone wants proof of this send me a p/m of e-mail and I will be happy to prove it.

    Sea Hawks

I understand and agree with what you say David, poorer examples of some types (eg SeaHawk,Hunter,Gannet etc)

Well Ant the state of some Sea Hawks is discusting for example

FGA.4 WV903 – The only FGA.4 left an just look at it the Faa should be ashamed of themselves this should be saved asap.

FGA.6 WV798 -It just gets worse this Sea Hawk is close to being a write off:mad:

FGA.6 XE339 -Another one in a very bad way still I think some parts have been used to rebuild WV908 to flying condition.

A bit ot topic but what is WV795 being used for at Bruntingthorpe is it going to be rebuilt to taxing condition or kept on static display.Still its a shame the plan to fly this went under as the only other flying example IN240 is on a pole in india now.

Well their are loads of aircraft that are clost to bing a total loss

The shack at duxford is not the only one in bad nick just take a look at the one at long marston. Then of course their is the vulcan at blackpool this is an absolute discrase as is the lightning at newark.

Also their is a gannet at Deeside College in poor nick that I think will soon endup scraped.

Lastly their is a seahawk fga6 at Lasham that needs a lot of work to save it.

XH558 ending up at Duxford would be a total waste the best place would be brunty or the yorkshire air musseum.

I dont think that xj824 would last very long once 558 was their also who at Duxford would be able to keep the vulcan in running condition.

If the team at Duxford do want a vulcan in running condition let them restore xj824 the more vulcans taxing the better.

A bit of topic but was the vulcan at east midlands xm575 also in running condition until the new aeropark was built then the vulcan was stopped running under noise rules as was their s2 bucc.

Very worrying as xl426 at southend is clost to a houseing area.

Would be nice to still in real life it would be nice to have an old carreir with ex royal navy aircraft displaying at sea front airshows

The indian navy are going to atempt a project like this in india but in britain the caa would stop the whole thing.:(

BAE is just waiting for the old guys to die so they can scrap her; I was told as much by somebody at BAE.

What a waste if they dont want it then let a museum take it like they did with the saudi lightnings at warton.

Maybe the yorkshire air museum could by it and taxi it with the victor:) would love to see that.
