Could be a number of reasons.
Crew shortage i.e Maternity leave etc
Flight deck hours might be limited
Aircraft maintenance
Aircraft shortage
Slot problems
Easyjet at NCL have it alot at the minute with the BRS and STN rotations being cut in the evenings due to Flightdeck being short on hours.
I think its G-FJEB what has had all the problems. It had a decent summer 06 and winter 06/07 but from May 2007 its had constant bad luck.
I roughly estimate that it has had at least 10 major tech delays resulting in 5 hour plus delays.
Great bunch of Crew just an awful shame that a small company can have such bad luck and alot of bad media coverage.
The NCL-BHD hand to make a return to NCL on Monday evening. After take off the gear wouldnt go op, turned around over North Sea and returned to NCL safely. A/C was tech in Newcastle overnight.
747 came in at 11.50 just after id left the car park at work I seen it on finals. Later on I was telling a mate about it and it took off in the distance around 16.00 I think. Could have been some decents photos from NCL today, 747 two 737 bbj and the nice EuroAtlantic.
I was told the other day its the Sheik of U.A.E who is in, Ive noticed his 737 in for last week or so. I had the job of escorting the crew member down to the aircraft, Had a good chat with the nice crew who was telling me shes origionaly from good old Whitley Bay but has worked for EK 8 years and got offered the job of the Shieks personal crew. Supposedly he has been on a tour of the U.K stopping for lunch in Hexham!
Same with me Luke im off Sat so miss the EK, Probably the only time Ive wanted to work a sat lol.

Thas the main Mon-Fri schedule Tues and Thurs sees FAO replace PMI and then GVA returns in December so it maybe that back to 6 a/c from December.

Came in last week with demands of food and drink (water at room tempetature) also wanted a taxi to take them to the Airport britannia hotel a good 50yards away! Nice Plane though.:D
Onur Air been using a300 last few weeks on the DLM, BJV and Izmir flight normally operated by a321. Have also seen MD-80 being used and a320 from Freebird airlines.
Anyone see the Flybe go around on Thursday? EXT was on approach 07 and helicopter departed straight into its path whilst on finals, full power and away! Did a steep 360 degree turn banking hard and done what looked like a 1 mile final onto 25 interesting viewing!
Aye well done mate. Its not bad working at NCL it has its good and bad days but if your into aviation then its the job for you. It may not be the best paid job and have the best shift patterns but ive been doing it for more than a year now and I dont wake up thinking ‘Oh no gotta go to work!’ I mainly look forward to it as most days are different!
This is operated by Thomas Cook. I think you can buy seats via Air Transat but a/c is 757-200 operated by Thomas Cook. I miss the Transat A310!:)
I have no problems with flyjet crew its just what ive been told about.
Alot of people say they have had no problems on FJE flights, I agree that last summer was good for them at NCL but they are not having a good 2007.
Alot of people at Newcastle airport have had to deal with the few delays FJE have had over the past week and have not been helped at all by FJE ops.
They are a small airline with only two a/c’s and its a very hard job if you get an aircraft going tech and your other one is based in MAN and also has a busy summer schedule.
I think the reason why FJE have had such bad publicity is due to the delay a few weeks and the fact that the passengers are always stright on the phone to the Chronicle.
I would much rather have FJE at NCL than the likes of Hola or Islandsflug which have been based previous years.
Was handled better by Servisair but not great by Flyjet! The crew sat on the a/c for 8 hours because the feared the would be attacked! Ok to leave the pax with the gate staff though. When the crew did get off the a/c they took there name badges off and hid the airline logo on there uniform.
Im pretty sure the route will still be there in October, just think its too soon to book at the minute depending on what time you want to travel.
A workmate of mine recently flew NCL-AMS-NCL with LS and wasnt too impressed. Didnt mention crew, Just that the a/c was the one used for mail flights and was very shabby inside, and that you have to bend down to see out of the window! says that he still prefers EZY. Thats his opinion not mine Ill have to get something booked to give them a try.
