    The charter market is in a big decline, MyTravel and Thomas Cook have merged to save themselves as well as TUI and FCA.
    Gone are the days people are happy to fork out an arm and a leg at Going Places to be then sat on a MyTravel 767 to Ibiza. People now rather book hotels and flights seperate. The charter industry has many annoying stigma’s that come along with it.

    1) Coach transfers, what is a 10 minute journey from airport becomes 1 hour going around 4 or 5 hotels prior to yours.

    2) You have a rep telling you what to do and see and you never need them anyway.

    3) Airline meals aren’t brilliant, hence many are now having them as optional.

    People prefer DIY holidays and i have done a few this year and have been alot better than standard package holidays.

    Most likely situation is them probably getting GSM’s 767-300s.

    What would be harm with JET2 trying the MD11 i believe there is plenty on market.

    I think best option is JET2 to lease a 767-300 and see how it works out.

    thank you lukeylad, you seem to have given me all the info i needed, hopefuly i will also see some other a/c at NCL on the day, hopefuly Monarch will have the A330 up there.

    There is many types to consider apart from the 767-300.

    MD11
    A310
    A330
    DC10 (A later built one)
