Noticed alot of incidents with JET2 aircraft in the past year, only 2 weeks ago a 757 made an emergency landing at Manchester.
Aberdeen could be a potential low cost base.
Maybe JET2 should consider expansion down south, Cardiff, Exeter, Norwich and maybe Manston been possible places to have bases. Scotland has potential with Aberdeen and maybe expansion into Europe like Easyjet did.
Wonder if JET2 will ever start up in Scotland, i think Aberdeen and Prestwick have potential.
i dont have a credit card
God help if you did
Oh yeh forgot to mention ive been on both Air Scandics A300B4’s built in 1984.
Wonder if LBA will get more Greek routes, such as Kos or Keffalonia.
Anyone got any Caledonian Tristar experiances. Remember the engine humming on start up, the rear of the aircraft having like 5 toliets, the config been 3-4-3, them planes were beast. Wish i had a pic of inside one.
Air Malta 737-200 Leeds-Malta 9H-ABC on the way, can’t remember the return.
Caledonian L1011 Manchester – Tenerife, Think it was G-BBAE both ways.
An old school Monarch 757, ive been on one of the first few built to Kos.
Nice to see these big mother ships coming into LBA.
Onur are doing good favours.
The E195 what an ugly plane.
Thomsonfly doing a retro red and blue 70s Britannia livery, First Choice doing the old red and gold Air 2000 and if only Caledonian name was brought back onto a TCX aircraft.
I hope to fly on a Monarch 757 again, they are truley nice planes, immaculate for the age. Will the MYT A321 live up to standards ?
Would love to see MyTravel do an old retro Airtours livery with a Big A on the tail.
I am back indeed, travelled on G-MONB back from Kos earlier on. I was very shocked that it was 23 years old, very clean and tidy inside, everything intact. Toliets were clean. Like G-MONB, the aircraft i flew out on G-MOND was also in sound condition. Shame i was at back on return flight, i didn’t hear the RR hum you get towards the front. Monarch themselves are definatley cost cutting, the size of the meals are getting smaller and IFE channels seem to be reducing. But back to main topic the 757s are still going strong and are in excellent condition.
You could always PM a LBA local 😉

Or better still go on airliners.net 🙂 or pprune 😀
