Maybe one key factor, Thomas Cook don’t have a based a/c at LBA, i know alot of people who have been or are going with Thomas Cook this summer.
LBA gets far too overlooked by people, and more needs to be done to promote the airport. Fine JET2 are doing fantasitc, but on charter side of things, LBA really hasn’t progressed over the years.
They had DC10’s PP-MVU been one of them.
Well one of my simple responses from someone who lived in York who went to Tenerife is “I did’nt know you can fly from Leeds to Tenerife”. Problem LBA has is people always refear to Manchester when booking a holiday.
90% of people i know go from Manchester, very rarely i know someone going from LBA.
777s will be snapped up quickly, MD11’s will most likely go to FedEx as for DC10s they maybe heading for the graveyard.
Jet2’s LBA customers obviously aren’t bothered by facilities or road access otherwise Jet2 wouldn’t have 10 or 11 aircraft, including 757s, based there.
Or are you saying that road access and airport facilities are more important for customers on charter flights than scheduled flights? If you are, I’m fascinated to know why.Rob
People on charter flights tend to be less upper class than those on scheduled flights. Ask the average Club 18-30 Thomas Cook Airlines passenger about flying from Leeds, they probably think its just an airfield.
Sadly i also have trouble tracking my flights.
Im trying to find what BY416A and BY416B were on 17/12/97 and 24/12/97 respectivley. Also CKT258 and CKT259 on 1/1/99 and 8/1/99.
All flights MAN-TFS-MAN.
Taba and Banjul maybe but not sure about those Greece destinations. Just look at what goes from NCL this summer.
4 757s a week going from NCL to Rhodes
3 757s, 1 A320 and 1 737 a week going NCL to Heraklion
2 757s and 1 A320 NCL going NCL to ZakynthosAll this to serve what, 2m people something like that. How many people live in West Yorkshire alone? 2.3m + North Yorkshire so hard to believe LBA would struggle to fill a single 757.
Rob
Mainly because when i ask people where they are flying from they always say “Manchester”, and when i ask why they say “Because its easier to get to” or “its a bigger airport with more facilities”. People are still ignorent to think Leeds is toy town international.
I am 19 would you believe.
Silly me! How could I forget that? Of course, the colour and thickness of the toilet paper should also be considered! :diablo:
What for your fat ugly backside lol
Christ i dont get to detailed, only wanting to know what an old monarch 757 looks like inside, is it such a crime.
AHEM… Google.com
Paul
So you think google would of brought up what operated on MON1288 and MYT101 then. No chance mate. 😡
Wheres G-BNWH these days, surely it doesnt take 9 months for a re-fit.
My posts are different. Lba rlz can find out the info himself by looking at a map, my questions are normaly a/c type which i myself wont know.
All i ask is for someone to tell me what the older Monarch 757s are like.
Thats all i ask, surely someone has travelled on G-MONB,C,D
Oh, the irony! :diablo:
Paul
Ah but mine are at least are little different
There is absolutely no reason whatsoever why a 1983 aircraft would give a more unstable ride than one constructed in 2005. If that were the case I’d be very, very worried…
Paul
Im not worried, not one bit, im excited by the fact.
