Im wondering if anyone has been on a JET2 757 yet ??
How long is the flight time then to Gatwick.
Do they let you off plane at Gatwick or is it just a case of wait around before some southerners get on.
Have these 757s had IFE removed ?
What is the situation with MYTs 767s anyway.
G-DIMB – is this staying at Monarch for good ?
G-DJAC – is this returning ?
G-SJMC – Is this returning just on a tempory basis or staying ?
I was really hoping for an A330 after many recent 767 flights, mind you i do love 767 take offs so can’t complain.
Also what engine’s does G-SJMC are they same as the TOM 763s and another bit of a daft question, anyone know the flight time and cruising altitude the flight will take MAN-LGW and of course i bet it will go up like a rocket.
Ive not enjoyed a BY 757 for 8 years now 🙁
But i recently enjoyed a Monarch 757 which are some of the oldest about, mine was G-MONJ built in 1988 😀
How old are the BY 757s
LBA already have a Barcelona route so i doubt Ryanair would do a Gerona route, however it is always welcome 🙂
I like the picture of the AEU 737, i just wish we had their 757 instead, LBA seems to have to many 737s at moment and is lacking in the buses.
If i had my way i would start up my airline from Humberside Airport having an MD83 aircraft and call them Eclipse Airlines and paint my planes tail’s in a dark blue with a picture of an eclipse.
But the BY757 is only doing half the charter it did 4 or 5 years ago and is only based for 3 days during the week.
Having no inflight entertainment these days is very very poor, AEU are a disgrace for not fitting IFE on their brand newish 737-700s 😡
I think mine was a BY 767-200 MAN-PMI in 1988, i can’t really remember a/c types and airlines until i was 4 years old.
Didn’t Monarch once think of starting up Malaga services from LBA basing an A321.
I have flown on a Caledonian L1011 G-BBAE both ways i think in 1999 MAN-TFS and TFS-MAN, lovely sound on the beast i remember the start up on the monster a nice humming sound from the back. Inflight was very noisy at the rear and the interior of the aircraft was very tatty and rattly but very enjoyable. The luggage holders had been removed in the middle and there was one big cinema screen at the front.
I loved that aircraft, best ever one i flew on 🙂
If the airport gets the much needed runway extension the LBA-JFK route will get the go ahead and there will be a much needed low cost transatlantic flight. Too make fares even cheaper they could lease a bigger aircraft such as an A300 or 767 so more passengers can get on meaning cheaper seats.
I think next winter looks pretty decent at LBA with 6 Tenerife services per week including both charter and JET2 flights i think our little airport is on the up, however i would of like to have seen Airtours subcharter a based aircraft during the winter.
