😮 Blimey chaps,i thought i would have been hung up by my wotsits saying the “F” word !!! It’s good to know i’m not the only one who loves the old way.Digital is wonderful, easy and of course a lot cheaper once the initial outlay is done and dusted…..buuuut i still enjoy the old clunk of my Nikons plus the feeling i am still having to work at the photo’s i am taking. Thanks for the advice on film supply, long may it live on.I do now have my films transfered on to disc when i get them developed at my local freindly printers so i still have the joy of sharing pictures on the net but it just takes a little longer…….but they are worth it ! My F3 was a camera i always hankered for from my early days of Zenith EM’s through to Pentax ME Supers,i now have that and absolutly love it,i use it more than the FM2 which i bought brand new,but they are robust old things and i have no worries of using them in rough situations and in all weathers.I also love the look on some people faces when you load the film up,it must be alien to a lot of photographers nowadays 😀

I remember the flybast over Manchester Airport,we viewed it from the “Brickworks” (who remembers that place ? ) or am i showing my age ?????

I got to Waddington to be told by a peed off copper that they had just only been told an hour earlier about the cancelled show,i don’t envy him trying to sort the mess out around the A17.Got home after a 230 mile round trip with two crying kids and a heavily pregnany wife not best pleased ! To top it all i pre-booked tickets in the hope of saving time and money for the show, guess thats gone now 😡

Tried to go the Newark just to try and get some aviation love but gave up on that becasue the place was full of people doing the same !
Day ended at Manchester aviation park in the showers with a very pi$$ed off family !

There are two museums in between Frankfurt and Stuttgart called Sinsiem and Speyer which are run by the same people. You will need a day each because they are MASSIVE !

They’ve cut the grass around the helicopters !!!!! Every year i’ve been the copters have been wheel high in long grass.Good to see the interesting stuff on the airfield finally coming over inluding the Tu-104 and Il-14/Avia ?
The Me109 is the rare Czech built Avia version,as is the Me262.

Thats a very steep angle to walk up!

Must be interesting when busy with only one entry/exit point!

Do they get high winds in that area as they dont seem lashed down that much other than the wheels!

Yes it is !….even worse when it’s a tad warm ! Spent a couple of days at both Sinsiem and Speyer last year, both awesome museums and well worth the trip.Speyer has a Lufthansa 747 up in the air which climbing up the stairs is a challenge but walking along the wing is so worth the scary climb ! They also have an AN-22 on the ground.First post over !
