Well looks like this forum has come up trumps again with helping me identify this panel! I’ll look forward to restoring it back to its original layout, all the instruments seem the pretty basic post war issue etc.)

Keep us update on that one, I (certainly “we”) really like it !!! 🙂

    Cheers,

    Olivier

Forgive the ignorance, but who were the ‘players’ in this conflict?

I forgive you Propstrike, don’t worry,
Algerian War was an independance war that involved Algerians and French between 1954 to 1962.

    Very nice thread TEXANTOMCAT,

I have a question about this movie :

    Never So Few
    1959 v
USAAF- F. Sinatra; Commando raid on Japanese air base (?). Used actual flying Ontario Air Museum Hayate (or Frank?) plus static Zeke.

Did really Frank set fire to this aircraft ?

    cheers,

    Olivier

Ah, TS409 (as you can see), the first prototype.
I can’t find any mention of it attending Le Bourget but it was demonstrated to the French Air Force 18-20/4/1948, before being brought up to naval standards to replace the ill-fated TS413 in the naval assessment trials; it doesn’t appear to have a hook in this picture…

    Flood

    Thanks a lot Flood,
Very interresting information, The person who gave me this picture 20 years ago said Le Bourget but was certainly wrong, I will check in old French magazine if I can find more about that.

    Many thanks again,

    Cheers,

Not the 60’s but may be interresting for some… Supermarine Attacker, Le Bourget airshow, in the 50’s.

    Cheers,

    Olivier.

Mark12, I’ m finnaly comming back to this thread, few weeks ago you asked me if I could provide him some bigger shot of this picture to see the serial numbers of the spit used for the movie. I hope that will help, sorry to activate this thread again but I lost your E-mail and others due to a internet problem.

…and two more from Villacoublay, the one under the crane was taken during the last open day of this air base (I think it was in 1982) but it’s end was a matter of weeks… like the other Broussard.

Two anonymous birds one Flamant MD-312 and one Noratlas Nord-2501 at Villacoublay air base (south west of Paris) they were to be burnt soon after…
I took those picture through the fence around 1981-82.
