I wish my dad worked on the railways (instead of the RAF) – much easier to save a single box than an expansion period aerodrome.
Don’t you believe it – the railway preservation bunch have “discussions” equal to the squabbles seen here 🙁
I’d be rather sad to not see/hear/feel a Vulcan flying again – I only saw one in rural Lincs a few (ok a lot of) years ago and feel that it’s the personalities getting in the way. My work on a preserved railway in the Midlands stopped because of things like “we don’t want THAT engine here at “our” end of the line“. Bigger pictured needs looking at, methinks.
With regard to the Vulcan thread – it seems the squabbles have driven people away sadly.
