To be truthful. I never found human inadequacy funny until I discovered aviation forums! The idea that people who are largely unsuccesful should spend their leisure time spelling out the the rules of the world to people who are generally in control does seem quite prepostrous to me. Perhaps this is meant to be part of the joke, a little like the pan telling the chef how to cook!
Oooh!!!! (holds handbag up towards face). Us inadequates have obviously been taught a lesson here by a person who feels he’s ‘generally in control’. Nice to hear it from the horses mouth, but talking about mouths, does anyone else sense a slightly bitter taste?
Sarcasm aside though, good luck to him. I’m sure plenty were mocking Stelios and Branson when they were just starting out.
A timely press release

If andrewm is happy to drive, within reason, and I’m sure we will all be very grateful, then it’s fairly acedemic this time around.

Top notch shots. From my office I can see the inbounds when the wind is OK, like today. Unfortunately I can’t be looking out the window all day because I am meant to be working! Saw an Aeroflot 321 on Friday…..which was nice.

Happy to meet you there. I haven’t been before so don’t know my way around. There is a basic map of the arrivals area on the Dublin Airport website, so if you suggest somewhere specific I’m sure I’ll find it. Obviously if one of our flights is delayed significantly I’ll make my way to the ‘unofficial’ spot by the runway.

I should arrive from Luton around 8am, leaving around 6pm. See you all there!

In my opinion it’s been a good laugh – but I didn’t read the thread until all had been revealed below. Anyone annoyed by it, please loosen up. Having said that, perhaps the next news of this kind won’t be taken so seriously, and if it’s genuine maybe that would be a shame. Obviously I’m in two minds here!

Comet – that picture of the T1 viewing area is so selective that it borders on misrepresentation. Having said that – can anyone spot me in that picture? Because I’m in there. 😉
Look, almost all of the pictures that I have posted on here are taken from the T1 viewing area and the fence never – I repeat, never – appears in any of them or impedes me in any way.
Now, either I’m 3 or 4 metres tall and thus able to take pictures over the fence, or you’re trying to paint the facilities at Ringway in as bad a light as possible for unfathomable reasons of your own.
I invite you to consider which of these two possibilities is the more likely…..
The pictures are quite good, by the way. 🙂
If you’re 3 or 4 metres tall you are 9foot 9inches or 12 feet! Sorry to be pedantic – enjoyed the photos though. At the end of the day Comet prefers BHX to MAN. She has been to both,as have I, and a lot of you have too. She’s entitled to her opinion, even if some disagree. Fair enough?
