I’ve been a little surprised by Comets comments. Not so much about BHX and MAN because BHX has both great indoor and outdoor facilities. I have been at MAN in the pouring rain and its not much fun. Having said that, I’ve always been on the car park and have never been to the remote viewing area. The indoor BHX site can get a little warm – but who am I to complain?

I’ve enjoyed Brussels in the past, spotting from the cafe on the top floor landside (wingtips cafe?). But when I was there this summer the new pier built between the terminal and the runway normally used for takeoffs has made spotting very difficult. I’ve been to the car park but viewing isn’t great and I’ve never seen anyone else there, so felt a bit conspicuous. Is there somewhere I’ve missed (bearing in mind I’m a carless spotter and not a photographer)?

I assume it was a divert from LHR – I can’t remember seeing a Trident at LGW and at that time I don’t think BA had many scheduled services from LGW. One off lease to British Airtours – seems unlikely.

It was interesting that the words “Niederrhein” and “Hahn” did not come up. I know where they fly to and am willing to use the airline. But I do wonder how many people feel themselves to be short changed. Should they be a bit more honest? From that report most people would think they were actually flying to Dusseldorf Airport (the real one). Not something else 45 minutes bus ride away.

I’m glad everyone’s OK, and no sarcasm intended, but can’t CDG manage with 3 runways. Frankfurt does!

Although I didn’t know him, I recognise his name from many photos over the years and I visit TAHS (Aviation Hobby Shop – well worth a visit) in West Drayton quite regularly. Even though his name may not ring a bell I suspect most of us have seen some of his excellent work. Sincere condolences to family and friends.

I agree it looks a bit blurred – are we sure its for real? Maybe I’m thinking it’s too good to be true!

Isn’t it exciting when you see the photo before hearing the news!
