Nothing on the bbc website yet
BBC News Online is one of the slowest online news agencies. Give them a couple of hours and they might post something.
Some details coming through.
My guess would be to limit the stress on the engine. Compare it with shifting down in your car from 5th to 1st gear. Not recommendable, and usually preceded by shifting down to 2nd or 3rd before going into 1st.
Again, just a guess.
I just use the clutch!
I found database corrupted itself for a short while today also!

“easyjet launch Bangor Maine”
Its basically going to be a flight without the flying. Should be “quirky” for the people onboard. Pity the actual Long Haul is only going to be for Airbus employees!
I am doing my best to make it!
In the short term it wont effect their jobs but in the long term it will keep them employed by the time it takes to produce the parts they are involved in as by no means is an order guarenteed to replace this order (allbeit potential). The media and opposition would have a field day if they didnt choose airbus also!
no 747s from LGW if that helps. B777s at Gatwick
My favourite program was the LH flight from FRA – YYZ, was that Flight Deck?
Was it not AC and YYZ-FRA on a Boeing 767. Which as Deano points out was in two parts?
Hi Garry hows it going. Remember me? hehe
When arriving at MAN from SOU on 24th April there was a B767 in full MYT new colours in between a full colours A330 and a just orange logo with blue belly A330. They were all over by the hanger.
You can still see Farnborough 98 and 00 on the Airshow programe cant you? Maybe I should have a word with my mums school friend given he has held Head of Discovery Europe, America and Wings for a short time (three different jobs). Unsure where he is now but ill start moaning! He is married to one of the Radio 4 presenters but i forget her name.
What is your flight number including airline iata code (e.g. BD for bmi, VS for Virgin – VS003 etc).
