    Previous photo taken at Chettinad near Karaikudi in Southern India which was used as a base for Spitfires and Hurricanes during WWII. It is believed that the YB-J shown is a replacement for MT719 which was retired to become a training aircraft, T17, with the Indian Air Force.

    It was possibly post WWI as the family went to visit and take photos of their brothers grave who was killed in 1916.

    I went to No. 1 School of Technical Training RAF Halton in 1956 as a member of the 84th Entry. Part of our training occurred at the airfield and I well remember the cockpit classroom. I was given the job of operating the hand primer in the wheel bay to start the engine.

    Many years later when the aircraft was purchased by Tim Moore he gave me one of the boost gauge dial faces.
