If they are looking for volunteers to help out (even as a tea boy to the mechanics!) I’m up for helping as much as I can. I would love to see her fly. As regards money and donations needed for parts etc, I may have an idea how to help with that, anyone know who I need to approach to do it?

Don’t they have a JJ supporters club? If not, maybe they should start one. Members could contribute, say a tenner a month and have exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ members days, BBQ’s etc, perhaps have stalls at airshows etc to raise funds.
    I’d contribute regularly.

Anyone approached David Thomas about flying her? From what I hear on the grapevine, he would be well up for it.

Obviously trips for school require fundraising, coach hire etc. any dates in November would be good as the project runs for the whole of November.

Newark is the largest private air museum in the country with some unique airframes. Hendon is good, just at the end of the A1 with good transport links. I like Hendon personally. If you do Newark, then you could also do East Midlands air museum on the same day. The train from London to Newark takes just over an hour. There is Metheringham airfield and Woodhall Spa nearby if you are into aviation history and Thorpe Camp too. Then Coningsby is nearby with the BBMF too. If you are coming over, pm me and let me know cos I can probably give you a lift from one to another as I have a few museums I haven’t seen hat I’d like to go to.

Where I live, it doesn’t matter whether it’s fully trained plod, specials or PCSO’s, they have all been equally useless when I wanted them. They seem to avoid dealing with real criminals and hassling everyone else and are very ‘selective’ about who they deal with. They have never done me ay good whatsoever. MY other half used to be very pro-plod, but since moving to the area and my ex causing problems, she would not help one if they needed it.

I’ve done an autogyro flight, MEGA fun, also microlights, gliding, parachuting, single and win engines, aerobatics in a glider, helicopters etc. Autogyro flying is under 200 and proper flying, shaky, wind in the hair, draughty, noisy and windy. I can’t wait to go again!

Sole UK survivor at Cosford; another in Argentina, plus Lancaster / Lincoln in Australia (I think).

There’s a complete Lanc in Perth, Western Australia NX622 which I have been inside.

Hiya guys, haven’t been on here for a couple of years. I believe that the cockpit has been saved and donted to/bought by someone else intent on restoring her. The rest, I believe will be wrapped around baked beans shortly. Glad the scrap bloke who bought her actually allowed her to have the cockpit saved at least.
