Thanks for that, I’m flying to Oz, via Hong Kong with Cathay very soon! I don’t like the airline anyway and they aren’t anywhere near as good as Singapore Airlines.
And a reminder for Wallis fans…
You can get autographed items (Little Nell Corgi, Books, etc) from the gift shop at the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum…proceeds go to the museum. 😀
The other day I saw a bit of You Only Live Twice on TV and that prompted me to get out the Corgi.
I only wish there was a way for him to sign the model itself…but it’s rather small.
You’ve obviously not seen how small he can engrave things then! 😀 I got him to autograph the box mine came n to make it more of a collectors item. Myself and a few friends are going back again later this year if anyone is interested.
Anyone happen to know how to get into Downing Street???????:)

You should feel the impact but would check your mirrors and not see anything. Most of us have a mirror above the windscreen pointing downwards to the front bumper, but in some of the trucks I have driven you really wouldn’t see him. You should hear the tyres though and smell it. I’ve seen trucks hit stationery cars and wipe 10 out in a heartbeat before it stopped, and that was whilst he was braking after hitting the first car. I bet I could drive my wagon at 60 through a house and out the other side with no problem whatsoever.

fingers crossed, one from waddington to newark 🙂
I’d like to see one at Newark. However, they hoped to have a Victor from Marham in the past (I used to work at the museum), but never got it.
I’d assume Cosford, Duxford or Hendon will be having one.
Just goes to show how powerful a lorry is. When I drive mine loads of people pull out in front of me, maybe certain car drivers should watch this and learn something.

You have to question the upbringing too, surely the parents are responsible from teaching right from wrong as well.

There’s also a scale model one at Scampton in case any of you haven’t been there.

At the risk of sounding like a total anorak, here is a link to a picture I took at The Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa last year on the Dambuster’s anniversary. It is one of the few remaining prototypes of the Barnes Wallis bomb, as another pic on the stream shows.
