I wonder how many western Europeans on this forum took that post as anything more than a joke, Sauron.

The Warrior is the best MCV in the world, especially now we’re getting the Bradley’s turret for it!

I guess im just going through yet another unfounded USAF bashing phase. I apologise as i know that they are one of the best Air Forces in the world full of extremely competant and knowlegable people. What i guess i was trying to mean was that it is always aimed at promoting the percieved fact that the world cannot cope without the USA and it’s technological advances. I guess that i find it a little too flag-waving, made in the US of A, moms apple pie for me. Before anyone says the obvious; if you don’t like it then dont read it, i actually enjoy the books, just not the “God Bless the USA” bull that sometimes it turns into. Perhaps that helps… If not then… im sorry i spoke.

I know exactly what Yourfather means when he speaks of “ra-ra America” in many of Clancy’s books. I would also like to say that it is prominent in Dale Brown’s books also. Its the general feel that everythings in in-redemable chaos until the USAF comes on the scene and restore order by simply being there. Like instances of Dale Brown’s books rely on the “luckily the Megafortress’s American radar was quicker and better than the Russian’s” approach. Obviously this is not an exact example, but is prominent and at times intensl irritating.

I got caught wandering along the taxiway of the RIAT in 2002 by the dreaded RAF Provost whilst trying desperatly to get back to the coach. Someone had left open a gateso i couldn’t see the big NO ENTRY sign on it. When crossing the taxiway i almost made an F-15 (or was it an F-16… can’t quite remember) do an emergency stop… Ahh fun times…

Is that for a standard Liberator or a VLR?
Thank you. Well if we Welshies can celebrate St. Davids day with all the hoo-ha, then why can’t you English wear a rose, or fly your flag? After the apalling Rugby results this year, they might need a bit of an airing!!! :dev2:
