Scars from motorcycling are NOT to be taken lightly. And ACTUALLY, the percentage of motorcycle accidents caused by idiotic car drivers is around the 75% mark. In a car this would result in a bit of nasty whiplash and a written off car. On a bike it would intale either a SERIOUS injury or death. Although i personally am only 17, i have lost 3 friends in motorcycle accidents. The first two (robyn and Mark, to give the deceased names) were both due to a car turning right in front of them without signalling. The driver not only was convicted of dangerous driving (and banned at the time) but was in an insurance write-off and had no insurance. The third (Paul) was rear-ended at 70mph by an executive in a mondeo doing 100mph who was on his phone. So please DO NOT trivialise the situation. It happens, we all know it, but we (and by that i mean motorcyclists) do not have the safety of cars (ie seatbelts, air-bags, abs etc) so are obviously going to have more serious accidents. If people (in general) payed more attention on the roads instead of yabbering on their hands free, listning to the radio, interacting with passengers etc there wouldn’t be so many deaths, would there?
Any piccies?
4 wheels = BORING
Injury is the bad thing really… I came off because of some diesel on a roundabout and broke my collarbone in 3 places which needed 7pins and 2 plates putting in to correct. My girlfriend’s parents have forbidden her 2 pillion with me now, even though it wasn’t my fault at all. Due to financial constraints ive bought a non-runner (and very rusty) Kawasaki LTD 454 (which i believe was imported from California) and im doing it up now hopefully to be ready to go in 2weeks.
My dads had bikes since he was 9 and currently has 14- 3 complete and running, 6 complete but rusting, 2 in various stages of development and 3 in the attic at home (disassembled, mind you!) They are mainly old British bikes like Triumph Trident, Bonneville, T21 etc but he also has a Moto Guzzi Ladola, lambretta scooter, a cotton and an AJS of some kind.
well said John C!!
Well said John C!!! Finally someones taking a stand for the motorcycling community!! Most motorcycles can beat cars that cost more than 3-4 times as much. Hell my old C-reg (1986) cruiser is still quicker off the mark than most cars today…
YZF-R1 i just found on Autotrader.com for the same price as the clio- 0-60 in 2.5, 180mph top speed, 80 in 1st gear, can pull away in 5th from the lights. Or you could always buy a clio and put spoilers on it in the vain hope that it’ll ‘increase downforce.’ A SAIL would do a better job… Just think… which of these would YOU prefer to have?
Amen to that Moggy C! And 0-60 in 15 flat??? come on!!! My dads Articulated TRUCK can do it in 20!!! And my £300 kawasaki cruiser LTD can do it in 13! My mates Vauxhall CORSA can do it in 12!!! And i bet they dont break down as much as your mustang!!!
Worst cars are the ones with stupidly huge spoilers, blacked out windows, massive alloys, stickers everywhere, massive exhausts driven by complete nobheads who insist on playing their DAMN bad music at insane volumes at 2AM. Seriously though- i was talking to a guy who said that he had a corsa which he spent £15,000 on- not engine improvements, mind you, it was still the bog-standard 1.1, but on paint jobs, dvd players etc. For £15,000 i would have bought A BETTER CAR!!! I would buy a Elise 111S for £14,990 like this!!! Wouldn’t anyone else?
good luck chum.
ditto!!!
aww dont hate me! Im jst a lil thick!

So there is NO possible way that a Lightning could fly in the UK? No loopholes- supply flights, visiting airforces etc?
