Incorrect, the next Rafale upgrade is due late this decade and the Typhoon update is due in the next few years. The proposed Rafale update is nowhere near as extensive because they’ve already near max’d out radar capability and there are no plans or ability to use a swash-plate mount and AESA RF warfare capacity isn’t due in the next update, it was referred to as a long term thought, and even then, guess what, limited by the smaller radar again. Ultimately, for any given technology level, the Typhoon is the better airframe physically, no way of changing that without building a new aircraft.

Looking at Rafale’s exhaust nozzles? Now I’d love to see that in the actual air is an acceleration of climb contest. I think we know who would win there.

F3-R next standard is already flying on experimental plane at CEAM (Centre d’Expérimetations Air Mont de MArsan) and will be delivered to forces in 2018.

Nah, actually, we only start to come here after tired of Rafale lover like Xman, Msphere, Snapfu35, ToolCool_sf, Halloween constantly
come to F-35, EF-2000 thread and perform their usual bashing

Wait, i do not really bash usually, just post on F-35 thread infos without comments.
For your info, i wrote 3 articles last year about EFT including one explaining withe P1Eb it was becoming real multirole…
Now as you bored me…

T1s can’t be equipped with AESA, insufficient cooling, and I guess they can’t afford T2s or T3s. Really they just can’t afford an airforce.

A sqiss jorno even qutoed the possibility of UAE -9 for Austria (I think he liked too much Ricola with strage herbs and/or musrooms)

Yes I agree. The RAF however are not making much noise about that capability (possibly because of internal politics pre SDSR) and no one else is bothered to my knowledge.

Storm shadow needs CFT however.

Def agree

Ah, fisherman’s tales again. I’d rather just point out your continuous adjustment of range claims and SPECTRA geolocation accuracy.

nope i first said “way over 10” and then 20. Any contradiction?

SPECTRA’s active elements are used for jamming/ECM (DFRM). They are NOT radar T/R modules:

Nope, you are confusing receivers and emitters. Spectra allows 360° reception (DRFM) and emission (now with GaN modules on B301 and M01 test planes, should be implemented in 2018 with F3-R standard presently in test at CEAM)

@lukos as i said, you can easily find the brazilian pilot on twitter or facbook , just ask him or sh.. up please.
I’d be very glad to see his reaction if you were to call him fisherman…

i’m not arguing, i’m dimplifying 7.8 to 8. again ask the pilot, the shot was performed at more than 20NM

what with it?

the shot was at WVR halloweene (7.8 nm)
http://www.defesanet.com.br/photo/defesanet/over_the_shoulder.jpg , at short range, even the DAS or any simple JHMS will allow over shoulder shot, since you only need to know the bearing of target

Nope the image taken on right screen shas a 8NM distance, but it wasn’t taken at the moment for the shot. The pilot is easily talkabla via twitter, FB etc. He will confirm that.

I’m a bit surprised noone really took notice of this:

Swapping the Stormshadows with fuel tanks and this looks like a solid loadout. Pretty much what the Tornadoes carried in Libya times 2 plus Meteors. Now the question is: just a mockup or really in development ?

Range in that config?

phase shift measurement required you to send signal to target, so basically same as a radar but required cooperative target

interferometry.

3 – Time different arrival method required at least 3 aircraft stay at significant distance from the other ,but doesnt work again AESA radar due to it very small side lobe , and thin beam

No

The specs/requirements for the RBE-2AA called for a 50% increase in range over the PESA. May have been coupled with software upgrades perhaps.

And CEAM sayed specs were largely exceeded, citing a double range.

According to TMor they are not. Makes sense also. Sensor fusion was only implemented with the F2 while the the IRST went out of production when the F3 arrived. No point customizing it for a limited number of airframes and then having to ensure backwards compatibility for all subsequent software iterations.

Every operational Rafale is now F3.4+ standard. F2 are retrofitted, aswell as F1 (but it is a longer process as the plane need to be completely rewired …)
