Its the poorest continent in world. it has significant resource constraints relative to population and nearly complete dependency on external resources. see how these EU nations jumping to a Chinese bank for Asia. EU could only muster $2b in grants to Ukraine this lead to 300% devaluation in Ukraine currency. there is more to come.
While Saudi led gcc gave Egypt $24b in direct aid and $32b in private investment. that’s how currency was stabilized.

i guess thats why so many russian ladies want to marry a UE citizen?

    @Andraxxus : I enjoyed reading your posts.

The M2K turn rate makes me wonder why the IAF didn’t ask for an AL31F or a F119 plugged on the back of the Mirage… Given the price of the upgrade…. Oh wait… You probably forgot to factor the thrust at alt where the antiquated M53 still has something to say in pair with the old Delta wing πŸ˜‰

I won’t be surprised if the IAF’s M2K pilots are the first converting to the PakFA.

    M-53 P2 antiquated? If you say so…

    Interesting article…

Obviously, ten years old – and when you stack it up against the piece cited by Halloweene, it’s rather obvious that to state “RBE2-AESA can/cannot do A,B or C” is silly and unfounded. If you want to use the radar for EW it is a matter of telling it what trons to squirt out where, which is mostly S/W. The limitation may be bandwidth, but that applies to anybody until a new generation of AESA comes along.

If you like the piece i cited plz click a “like” πŸ˜‰

    Excellent, thank you.

    From the quoted article

It is also apparent that the Rafale reflects an integrted approach to electronic warfare

The present architecture dates from F2, not F1

I think you fail to understand that translating a signal from analogic to numeric is not a reversible process. There is a threshold in quality. You are accustomed to this with mp3/CD player etc…

Signal process have now to be so much refined that a lot of Operation have to be done with the original signal. This prevent migrating the signal from one Black box to another one. Hence the need of high speed physical connection, integrated process of the spectrum of sensor data etc…

That it have to be via multiplexing or via a 3D signal, I of course don’t know; but here lies certainly one of the reason for a Multi-million lines program and teh way sensor are integrated.

So your Rafale, your Gripen might have a dedicated boxed signal analysis device connected b/w them with dedicated signal processing software. But fact is that you already lost the sensitivity and hence the information. The only way is to increase the amount of data processed wit more powerful computer running exponentially faster. But then, you have to make the hypo that Fr hardware, Swede Hardware are way superior that their US counter part (and running at a cooler temperature).

Up to you to draw the conclusion.

once again, hoq do you know Rafale and Gripen systems????

he ask what Radar connect to ESM mean, and i explain, then you come in and say “Wow trying to reinvent SPECTRA or Typhoon Praetorian suite? Still a long work ahead…” , which actually have nothing related to the original argument because we compared F-35 and F-18E,
that why i said ” i didn’t say Typhoon, Rafale dont have that capabilities”
    is that clear now?

Sry, my bad, read too quickly

For example in Frisian Flag flag exercise in 2012, F-16 achieve 100 kill and 6 lose again the Typhoon
    http://suomenkuvalehti.fi/jutut/koti…-kuinka-kauan/

They killed 100 of “ennemies”. Nothing specific about Typhoon. And btw finnish air forces use F-18…

F-35A cost around 98 millions USD

    .
With or withour engines, initial spare parts, training systems etc?

in general , when aircraft move faster when release bomb, missiles , the weapon will have more energy thus they can reach longer distance

Goood luck if you have to rely on that to reach a target… Btw have an idea of pedestrian speed of SDB?

    If F-35 can go m1.6 with 2xAAMs & 2x2k bombs then it counld also do that with 6 AIM-120 ( internal ) or 2 AAM + 8 SDB

I doubt that. More weight mean more lift aka more drag.

The F-35, while not technically a “supercruising” aircraft, can maintain Mach 1.2 for a dash of 150 miles without using fuel-gulping afterburners

Flat flight? Anw 150 miles s peanuts at those speed. How many minutes? Doese it need to use fuel gulping AFT to pass transsonic regime?

F-35 will go farther than Gripen , F-16, Rafale , Typhoon , F-18E/F trying to carry the same load

Prove that please, specially in the case of Rafale or EFT fitted F-18/Typhoon

bias claim , stealth data link allow F-35 to communicate with other or with missiles without being detected thus reduce the chance enemy will scramble fighter to intercept a F-35 formation , it a great feature for any fighter to have

Gripen NG certainly has. On study for Rafale (PEA TRAGEDAC), proposed for F18 NG etc. Not compatible with F-22 for ex.

F-35 already have it fitted , and also none of these Typhoon , Rafale , Gipen ,F-18E/F , Su-35 even have DIRCM , so they are alot more vulnerable again modern IIR missiles

What is fitted? DIRCM? Otherwise Rafale already has maws covering near all the sphere. And they are specified DIRCM compatible, and were one of the sensors used to perform a passive shooting (http://www.defesanet.com.br/rafale/noticia/10892/Descendre-un-agresseur-a-6-heures—Vive-la-difference-/ ; http://www.portail-aviation.com/2014/02/exclusif-le-ddm-ng-un-detecteur-de_8513.html)

yeah ,EOTS is better than normal IRST because it allows target tracking, through both IR (Infra-red search and track) and visual sensors,it also have laser spot tracker sensor

and? many pods have or will have such a capability. First coming to my mind is Talios thalès pod which will be operational in 2018.

LPI allow searching – tracking – attack enemy without being detected ,if enemy dont know they are being tracked they will not use counter measure ( electronic or kinematic ) thus improve PK of F-35’s missiles

Which modern radar do not offer LPI?

ESM can be used to cue the radar , thinner beam thus result in longer search- track range for radar, the radar could also be used in SAR mode to identify- classified ground-sea target detected by ESM system

Wow trying to reinvent SPECTRA or Typhoon Praetorian suite? Still a long work ahead…

    etc.

F135 in F-35B is an adaptive engine. At the push of a button, it goes from low bypass turbofan to high bypass turbofan and back again.

F120 for the ATF program was a valiant attempt at a variable cycle engine. The variable area bypass doors allowed it to vary bypass ratio depending on airspeed, altitude and thrust demand.

Aswell as M53-P2 btw, not a real new idea.

Given that the Rafale still isn’t operational with helmet mounted sight it could be a while…

If eventually the technology becomes standard (and I agree it probably will) then the days of dog fighting will be at an end.

    under integration.

Apache? SCALP-EG or ASMP-A yes, but hardly the Apache which is successor to the Durandal. With diminishing numbers of ordered Rafale on one hand, and crashing Franco-Russian relations on the other, its likely that the Kh-31 integration will fall through.

Apache is not built anymore due to sub ammunitions treaty.
