The other problem is communicating through the plasma stealth and using your own radar through it and how do you do SIGINT or RWR functions? We’ll have to wait to see if any of the new Euro drones have it. I guess we’ll know by 2030.
I wonder if it would be possible to have a thin layer of gas between an outer radar transparent skin and the aircraft main body and then ionise that, or does it need to be a certain thickness? Could you employ radioisotopes to expedite the process?

ATM they seem to think about two applications : stealth for radar RCS (as plasma can be generated very quickly and disappear as fast), but only on high value planes like nuclear bombers, and reduction of the transition between boundary layer. But only on very high value aircrafts.

Problem is not really power, but gas generation and distribution. You dont just simply make plasma from ambient air as far as i understood, i’ll let you know, but quite busy atm writing my book on mirage 4000 + normal work. Their Ramses NG pod also desreves lots of interest. (5cm definition SAR coupled with huperspectral cameras)

Technically plasma stealth is achievable according to them , but cost is prohibitive. So it may be limitied to hot spots on EFCAS and Radar of Nuke Rafales (for their MLU). But they did mention a 2025-2030 EFCAS objective.
