but that was before the su-35s became fully developed (maybe its still not fully developed)

and before the Rafale started bombing all those muslim countries and blowing the dust off the typhoon and gripen in operations.

Blowing muslim countries? You mean Ghaddafi’s fief and Al Qaida positions in Mali?

1: You come to the conclusion that Typhoon has an AESA but has AMRAMM instead of Meteor?

    2: See 1.

3: Engine(s), airframe design, altitude, speed and weight amongst other aspects play their part.

    4: See 3.

5: Has it’s usefulness, see RAF Typhoon vs F-22 article from The Aviantionist. TVC not essential when one has HEA.

6: Again, has it’s usefulness, but cheapness doesn’t always automatically mean you’re going to have an advantage. More costs can have an advantage of their own in the right areas.

I love this article about thrust vectoring… Helped a lot on this side of channel to sort between Rafale bashers and Typhoon lovers. Hope there will be such an article that will allow Typhoon supporters to do the same πŸ˜‰

    Moon_Light,

Because Slowman/InternationalPirate is selling the F-15SE to South Korea, that’s why.

Plus, he knows sod all about Typhoon, nor it’s price, nor how it should be used. Want proof, visit Eurofighter Starstreak and see how he’s continuously corrected.

And, it was a very long time ago since the Typhoon was officially referred to as EF-2000.

And another stupid thread. It’s like the early 00s all over again…

    Nostalgy πŸ˜‰

Btw, did anyone notice that in Vianney Riller Jr test of Rafale it shot a missile over the shoulder using passive sensor? Seems not so unique capability of F35… Think i heard somewhere that Gripen NG would ba capable of it also.

Cross posting this extract of Mr Vianney’s test of Rafale on defesanet, it looks very interesting to me as far as passive sensors capabilities are concerned :
    Sry, google translation from portuguese

During our assessments, duelamos in sets of scenarios where BVR and WVR engage the Mirage 2000-5 (analyzed in more detail in Part 3 of this test), where we were able to confirm the SPECTRA EW combination with the handling characteristics and acquisition of MICA ER , which allowed us to catch the target from the EM / IR / Laser Threat Detection – Electromagnetic Threat Detection / Infrared / Laser – when the bubble of security around the Rafale was invaded and execute the launch of the missile over the shoulder – on top the shoulder, or the firing of a MICA against a target located at position six (behind the aircraft) without even changing the direction of flight of our hunting.
