updates Focke Wulf Fw190 A8/M WkNr.980554
Roll out of WkNr980554 15th April 2011
The owner choosed a different radiator solution as Jerry Yagen. At this airframe there is installed a ring-radiator with a new airflow-system. The radiator ist new constructed with a bigger surface and a bigger “oilcontent”. Also this plane has the huge oiltank in front of the windscreen (124ltr). All those ideas and new solutions were “transported” from Yagens fighter to this plane.

updates Focke Wulf Fw190 A8/M WkNr 980554
Some updates concerning the second Focke Wulf project at MeierMotors… as I told you before, this is the ex-Tony Blair Fw190 from Duxford. This ship was sold to a German Collector and MeierMotors got the task to bring it to flyable condition with German Registration. Theses days the plane was ready for roll-out and for the first enginetests.
At first some pictures from the cockpit. Quite different to the Yagen-Focke Wulf

cockpit views
wheels down (good idea) and in the upper left the magnetos-swith

the right panel with the radio

right panel, in the middle of that picture the “start button” …… as I said not enough fuel ….. there is a little witch in my brain, but the angel on my shoulder says “dont even think about” …. one time I will kill that angel :dev2:

bomb release … ok we have no bombs

tank switch

the electrical trim-joy-stick … I think, the -5 was the first Corsair with electrical trim-mechanism

no use of that, I fly only low level 😆 low and fast an angry bird has to fly low

canopy control

again radio and wingfolding-control

again a look straight forward left side

the huge flaps

full right aileron (look at that trimtab)

full left aileron

last glimpse, the heating at the bottom of the cockpit. You can open and close it with your feet.

That was the cockpit “walkaround” , hope you enjoyed ist

YEEEEEESSS ! I love it really , out of the office and sit down in a warbird, dream a bit ….. that my “escape” and my work-life-balance

big ship and big grin

when you stand on the pilots seat, you can see that

when u sit down, you can see this …. not very much…. paying attention while taxiing that beast is a good idea

lets look to the left

and of course to the right

in front the main panel

😡 not enogh fuel ….. no escape chance 😀

engine and system checks 8th April 2011

engine and system checks 8th April 2011
Photosession 8th April , some engine and system-checks

Achim Meier at the controls ….. seems that he has fun 😀

what a beauty !!!!!

those runups are really physical stress for the pilot 😀 pull the stick to the chest (lot of pressure on the elevators), brake hard (lot of power to the pedals) and “play” with the throttle. Nothing for a banker like me :(:diablo:

Wonderful shots – you must really enjoy your work!:D
Thanks for posting!
*hm …….. no
I LOVE IT !!!!!!! 😀
Supermarine Spitfire (LF) Mk.XVIe TE184 arrival
Spitfire Mk.XVIe …. some impressions

Supermarine Spitfire (LF) Mk.XVIe TE184 arrival
…… another highlight in 2011 !
The Supermarine Spitfire (LF) Mk.XVIe -TE184- arrived the 20th April 2011 at MeierMotors !
This fantastic plane was bought by Stephen Stead and will be stored and maintained at MeierMotors /EDTG . Stephen is also the owner of the fantastic Yakovlev Yak-3 “White 5” D-FYGJ stored at MeierMotors.
1500 low approach from south …. a fantastic highspeed pass …. Merlin growl at its best

and up in the blue sky over Bremgarten airfield

look at that fantastic shape

first touch down in Germany

at the controls Dan Griffith, well known testpilot

and a happy Stephen Stead

Spitfire taxiing …

arrival -commitee

Dan Griffith

shake hands

and of course a german beer …. no more flying today 😀 from the left Stephen Stead, Dan Griffith and Achim Meier

I’m going to say I didn’t like that ‘scheme’ at first glance, but bearing in mind the aircraft is a ‘new build’ with no historical provenance, it has now grown on me. It shows off the lines of what is a pretty little aircraft.
“gimme five” 😀 exactly my thinking about this bird, and I tell you it looks great glazing in the sun. Its really an eyecatcher and something very special. And when the beast is awake ………
Will the kill markings on BBD be replaced with the Balkenkreuz?
German law says “yes”. Its not allowed to “wear” or show the swastika outside museums. Th french Fw190 F-AZZJ was taped before they arrived at Hahnweide airshow.
some tests with the Hisoano Aviacion Buchon D-FMVS
….. some engine and breaktests with the Ex-Kindsvater Buchon D-FMVS. The WkNr 234 now belongs to the “air fighter academy GmbH” based upon the island Usefdom at Heringsdorf airfield. The investorfamily Schuelke has a impressive collection of warbirds, this is one of them under maintenance at MeierMotors
Here you can Elmar Meier doing some test after the 25hours inspection. A new breaksystem was installed and this needed also some testing
the fighter in the big hangar at EDTG

Elmar at the controls

Merlin power

Elmar with his “black man” Juergen

everything went perfect, and Elmar seems to be happy 😀

thats it for today
uuups forgotten the video
First Run up of the FockeWulf Fw190 A8/M WkNr 980554
here is the video of the first testrun

have fun !
I have to say I agree with you, Matthias. With that polished cowl, basic national markings and the unpainted tail surfaces, it almost looks like a prototype of some sort. I kinda like it, to be honest.
Will there be more added to the paint scheme, or is that “it”?
Thats it, right you are ! pure Focke Wulf !
First Run up of the FockeWulf Fw190 A8/M WkNr 980554
Today was the first rollout and runup of the second MeierMotors FockeWulf project. That fighter was formally registered as G-FWAB and belongs now to a german investor and collector.

the paintjob was at first a bit strange in my eyes, but after a time its really great and shows the beautiful shape of that fighter

ZUENDUNG !!!!!! Juergen Meier at the controls of “his baby”

Boy oh boy this things hammers around …wow …. good vibrations 😀 and I tell you this thing is loud ….. I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!
The first run lasted 8minutes and everything went perfect. No temperature problems, no leaks, a happy team of course !!!

To be continued … and I have a video of that beast :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
