hey flood , yo are great !!!
many thanks for your work !!!
now I can put same informations into my website !!
the “un-user friendly”, he came from Kiel too? I thinks I know him…
one data are misterious:
28.06.1940, Page Hampden, 61.sqdn, L4112:
you wrote, the a/c crashed in Kiel Bay. But I have informations, that the a/c crashed on land. the dead crewmember was found on a field in the near of the crash.
1KIA, 3POW is right. I have the details from original list of War Cemetary in Kiel…
Maybe your data is wrong?
thanks again for your great help !
Nils
that´s right 🙂
but I have not enough money to by it…
maybe in the next jear !?
so I hope to find some informations here.
RAF squadrons…never referred to as ‘n’th Squadron…Americans didn’t use Hampdens…etc.;)
Flood
the ´n´th its from me !
I have only the numbers of sqdn. and maybe the type of a/c
In the list are no us- a/c .
ooh guys, I am too old for this world 😀
thanks for message! I have corrected the url.
nils
look here: It´s QR-P
Hmm, think the letter are P-QR, maybe ?
Right of the draw I can see a “Q”…
I can´t see a “OL-P” on this a/c. I think it is impossible that the a/c lie down a so long time. The Wehrmacht was very correctly about it.
At the backside of picture was write “September 1940” …
Hi Ian,
are you sure ?
This picture was take on 26.Sep.1940 in Kiel. On this date only one a/c of Hampden was shot down by Kiel…and this must be this hampden from 61th squadron..
(Source of picture Library of Kiel City, Cf19)
thanks to all !
Yes, I have done a mistake of the date!! (sorry, I have so much dates to research here !)
It is the 8th/9th. August 1941 (Hampden Hereford, QR-? 2 POW, 2 KIA), so my research of crash actually.
@ Ian:
maybe it is a hampden, yes. dont know more…
@flood:
sorry, its my mistake of date! the right date is the 8th. april 1941 !
thanks to Ian 🙂
now I must look in my database to complete !
today I was in a library and found a lot of picture from the crash of this a/c.
the letters “TL-P” are print. the a/c crashed on sep. 16. 1941 at 9.30 p.m. near Kiel
I hope to know, that is the L9505 serial, from 35th sqdrn.
you know more about it ?
thanks
nils
thanks for the fast answer !
where can I find a list of partnumbers and inspection stamps of british aircrafts?
I have a list of american a/c partnumbers and stamps, but no british…
@ archieraf:
Do you have a list of crashed a/c on 15 / 16 September 1941 and 08 / 09 August 1941 during the raid of Kiel?
maybe it is no Halifax on the picture (first large picture)? the reporter wrote in 1941, it is a Halifax…
Thanks for the information !
That is what I need 🙂
Best Regards from Germany !
Nils
I have only one name from the pilot of the Halifax (Brown)
Maybe it is “Norman Moores” 10th Sqdn. ID 1304369 ? He is in my list of killed crews on this day.
