They are cute little planes, I cant wait for my trip! They are such good little performers, I bet them jets could get airbourne from my back garden!

Indeed, they are good performers at take off and landing, however the compromise for this STOL capability is a low and slow cruise performance!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.

Will you be ‘re-branding’ yourself then?!

They say that there should be design changes to the 757, haven’t they realized, 757 have stopped constructin 757’s!:D

I’m sure they can still be made to the existing 757s, like the smoke detection system was fitted to existing MD-11s after the Halifax incident.

I agree with LBARULES, all of these ‘blasts from the past’ things belong in one single post as it is just one topic.

I think we all know why we don’t get these extras anymore – airlines have had to cut costs and while free sweets alone might not be expensive, it’s lots of the little things like that, multiplyed by an airline’s many annual flights which would all add up. I don’t personally think it would make any more people fly with them – most people just book the most conviently timed and cheapest flight on the route they want, often without taking much notice of the carrier or weather or not they will get a sweet.

I’m thinking about getting a Canon 10D if they reduce in price (they have just been discontinued).

It would be amazing if I could get such quality pictures, however like you say – you have to be a very good photographer aswell!

..or spending the whole flight in the toilet to get their money’s worth and to make sure they don’t need to go again.

    the bargains at http://www.7dayshop.com

Has anyone ordered from this website before, so I can be sure I will actually recieve my products? And are they secure?

The 10D looks very good. Does ‘body only’ mean you get everything except the lense? And what kind of lense is best for aviation photography (taking into account the restrictive viewing places these days?)

Sorry for so many questions but I know nothing about photography, and would love to start aviation photography!

    Thanks,

    Luke

It would be virtually impossible to ever make air travel 100% secure and terrorism proof. Even if it truley was VERY VERY secure, terrorists (who are are obviously extreamly devoted to their cause) would always be able to find the ‘hole in the fence’ of aviation securty and carry out their sick intentions.

Therefore, any of these new, hugely expensive security measures are completly and utterly worthless.

What goes wrong with an aircraft when it is struck by lightning?

I thought they were designed to withstand lightning, and that an aircraft getting struck is quite common.

    Very Nice pics. 😎

I don’t understand why some airlines choose such a cluttered flight deck layout on the EFIS screens – like CO has with their 738. It makes the main displays much less clearer. And if something goes wrong and needs attention, surely the related instrument/dial will be shown on screen automatically anyway??

Eg. The HLX 737 EFIS screens are less cluttered.
