Hi All,
Thanks again for the kind words.
Regarding the One-O-Nine, since some where interested, I made another capture of the incident showing it at quarter speed and true speed, but it seems the quality is not better, despite different settings. Anyway, my aim was just to provide people with some footage of this nice airshow, and not to focus on this incident, so I will make no more attempt to have something better.

The P-51 and Spit movies I posted earlier had some interference noise, so I made new ones (they are both a bit longer also):

I hope you will like them.
Laurent – you should make a DVD of these videos: I’m drooling over the Griffon Spit! š
Well, I recently bought a DVD writer for my computer, so once I understand how to make everything work fine, I will certainly make one. I will let you know if you are interested by a copy.

..anyway a higher resolution videoclip from 0:40 to 0:60 would help a bit, is it possible to have it Laurent?
I will work on that tomorrow afternoon, a little bit late right now for me.
Thanks for all the kind words.
Here are two more, depicting some more classic stuff:

I will try to put some more tomorrow evening

Happy Birthday Martin,
I hope you had very nice presents š

Hello,
An old issue of Warbirds Worldwide (n°2) confirms it was Ray Hanna who did the flypast, at S.Spielberg request.
Laurent
Hello,
It seems your uncle’s father was flying in B-17G 42-39829, flown by Capt Copley, and shot down by flak. 1 evader, 1 KIA, and 9 POWs (11 crew members?). Missing Air Crew Report #4276. This info come from Roger Freeman’s big book “The B-17 Flying Fortress Story”
In fact, I started my search on this very useful website, as it provides a searchable MACR database:
http://www.armyairforces.com/dbmacr.asp
and they even tell you hpw to obtain the full report from the National Archives (they also have a very helpful forum, by the way)
The 366th lost another plane that day, 42-97097, and 6 crew were killed while the other 4 were made POW. MACR #4277. Name of the pilot was Knight (no rank given).
HTH,
Laurent

Hello Mike,
First seat is pilot/co-pilot seat on B-24s, no problem on that.
Second seat, no idea.
Armored glass could be the one you find in Grumman Avengers turret, but I am not totally sure.
HTH,
Laurent
Nice pics, Kilvy. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Laurent
Hello,
From the 479th FG history book I checked in, it seems the plane was P-51B 43-7157, coded J2*7, and flown by 2nd Lt Robert b. Hymans, who was listed MIA at the time, and whose remains were recoverd in 1997 (or 1998), 2 miles east of Shoebury Ness. He crashed during a training flight, cause unknown.
HTH,
Laurent
Hello,
Could it be that?

HTH,
Laurent
Hello,
There was a 3 pages story about an RAF pilot during the Battle of Britain featuring this picture (and another showing the right side in an old american magazine (Airfoil n°5, 1987), and the author said that the S/N was oversprayed, but painted on very small characters on the tail, and also confirms those are private pictures taken in a clandestine manner, so it is unlikely they were censored. Unfortunately, the author did not give the S/N for this plane.

The differences between LaurentB & MikeH’s pics are quite interesting. It’s good to see that money has been spent on the museum.
In fact, I have made a mistake dating my picture 1999, it was July 1995 in fact.
Here is a picture taken in March 1999:

with the rudder removed and the tail covered, while some work was done on the walls.
Laurent
Nice pics, Thanks for sharing, Mike
Looks like the middle pic is upside down.
Laurent
the Lambeth P-51D would have been another flyer.
But it is flying Martin, see š

Seems like they removed the oil and coolant radiators (to save weight?), is the engine still inside?
Laurent
That was me in June 2001, “flying” NX664
